3. Setup and Assembly
Assembly of the PURPLE LEAF Hardtop Gazebo requires careful attention to detail and a minimum of two to three people. It is recommended to lay out all parts and familiarize yourself with the instruction manual before beginning.
General Assembly Tips:
- Teamwork: Due to the size and weight of components, assembly is significantly easier and safer with at least 2-3 individuals.
- Initial Fastening: Do not fully tighten all screws immediately. Leave them slightly loose during initial assembly to allow for adjustments, ensuring all parts fit correctly before final tightening.
- Level Surface: Ensure the base and frame are plumb and square. An unlevel base can cause difficulties in fitting subsequent parts, especially roof panels.
- Tools: While an Allen wrench/hex key is provided, a drill can significantly speed up the process, especially for the numerous screws involved.
- Roof Panels: When installing roof panels, ensure they slide into tracks correctly. Do not force or cut panels if they do not fit; re-check the frame's squareness.

4. Operating Instructions
Curtains and Netting:
- The gazebo includes two layers of fabric: an outer curtain for privacy and sun/rain protection, and an inner netting for insect protection.
- Both layers operate on a double-track system, allowing them to be opened, closed, or tied back independently.
- The yarn-dyed polyester fabric is water repellent and fade-resistant, offering durability against outdoor elements.

Roof and Drainage System:
- The double-tier roof design allows for optimal air circulation, reducing heat buildup and enhancing comfort.
- The integrated water gutter system efficiently channels rainwater away from the gazebo, ensuring a dry interior.

5. Maintenance
Regular maintenance will extend the life and appearance of your gazebo.
- Cleaning: Clean the aluminum frame and galvanized steel roof with mild soap and water. Avoid abrasive cleaners that could damage the finish.
- Fabric Care: Curtains and netting can be spot cleaned with mild detergent. For deeper cleaning, follow specific care instructions provided with the fabric. Ensure they are dry before storing or closing for extended periods to prevent mildew.
- Drainage System: Periodically check and clear the water gutters of any debris (leaves, twigs) to ensure proper drainage.
- Hardware Inspection: Annually inspect all bolts and connections to ensure they remain tight. Re-tighten as necessary to maintain structural integrity.
- Winter Care: While the hardtop is designed for snow, consider removing heavy snow accumulation to prolong the roof's lifespan. Curtains and netting can be removed and stored indoors during harsh winter conditions.
6. Troubleshooting
- Water Pooling on Roof: Check if the gazebo is installed on a level surface. Ensure the drainage gutters are clear of debris.
- Parts Not Fitting During Assembly: Verify that the base and frame are perfectly square and level. Do not force parts. Loosen previously tightened screws to allow for minor adjustments. Refer to the assembly manual for specific steps.
- Gazebo Instability: Ensure all anchor points are securely fastened to your deck or patio. Regularly check and tighten all frame connections.
- Curtains/Netting Snagging: Inspect the double-track system for any obstructions or damage. Ensure curtains and netting are properly aligned on their tracks.
