3. Setup

3.1 Battery Installation and Charging

1. Ensure the chainsaw is turned off and the safety switch is engaged.
2. Align the battery pack with the battery port on the chainsaw handle.
3. Slide the battery into place until it clicks securely.
4. To charge the battery, remove it from the chainsaw. Connect the charger to a power outlet and then connect the battery to the charger. Refer to the charger's indicator lights for charging status.

3.2 Chain Tension Adjustment

Proper chain tension is crucial for safe and efficient operation. The chain should be snug against the guide bar but still able to be pulled around by hand.

1. Ensure the chainsaw is off and the battery is removed.
2. Loosen the nuts securing the guide bar cover using the provided nut driver.
3. Adjust the chain tensioning screw (usually located on the side of the guide bar) until the chain is properly tensioned.
4. Tighten the guide bar cover nuts securely.

4. Operating Instructions

Before operating, ensure you have read and understood all safety instructions and that the chainsaw is properly assembled and tensioned.

4.1 Starting the Chainsaw

1. Hold the chainsaw firmly with one hand on the handle.
2. Press and hold the safety lock button (usually located near the trigger).
3. Squeeze the trigger to start the chainsaw. Release the safety lock button once the chain starts moving.

4.2 Cutting Procedure

• Always maintain a firm grip on the chainsaw.
• Position the chainsaw so that the chain makes contact with the material to be cut.
• Apply gentle, steady pressure. Allow the chainsaw to do the work; do not force it.
• Be mindful of the cutting direction and potential kickback.
• For branches, cut from the top down to prevent pinching. For larger logs, make a relief cut first.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning

• Always remove the battery before cleaning.
• Use a brush or compressed air to remove sawdust, chips, and debris from the guide bar, chain, and motor vents.
• Wipe the exterior of the chainsaw with a damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.

5.2 Chain Care

• Sharpening: A dull chain requires more force and can lead to kickback. Use the provided file to sharpen the chain teeth regularly. Follow the manufacturer's guidelines for sharpening angles.
• Replacement: Replace the chain when it becomes excessively worn, damaged, or can no longer be sharpened effectively. Refer to the included spare chain for replacement.
• Lubrication: This chainsaw model does not require external lubrication for the chain.
