Introduction

The HEDBOX UNIX-BM V-Mount Battery Plate is a professional power solution designed to provide stable and reliable power for Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K, 6K, and 6K Pro, as well as other compatible devices. This adapter plate offers multiple power interfaces and robust construction for demanding cinema production environments.

• Universal Compatibility: Standard V-mount ensures compatibility with a wide range of V-mount batteries, including HEDBOX NERO-S, NERO-M, NERO-L, NERO-XL, NINA-M, NINA-Mg, NINA-L, and NINA-Lg models.
• Integrated DC Cable: Includes a flexible breakaway 40cm (15") DC power cable with a standard 2-pin Push-Pull Weipu SF610 connector for direct camera power.

Setup Instructions

1. Mounting the Plate:

   The UNIX-BM plate features multiple mounting holes (4 x M3x12 screws provided) for attachment to your camera rig or support system. For optimal stability, consider using the HEDBOX HOLD II System 15mm Rod Cheese Plate (sold separately) for installation on a 15mm rail system.

2. Connecting to Camera:

   Connect the integrated 15-inch Weipu 2-pin DC cable from the UNIX-BM plate to the 12V DC input port of your Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera. Ensure the connection is secure.

3. Attaching a V-Mount Battery:

   Align your V-mount battery with the V-lock mechanism on the plate and slide it down until it clicks securely into place. The durable Dur-Aluminium lock ensures a firm connection.

4. Connecting External Devices:

   Utilize the three D-Tap ports (14.8V/148W) and one USB-A port (5V/2.1A) to power additional camera accessories or mobile devices. Ensure that the power requirements of your devices do not exceed the plate's output capabilities.

Operating Instructions

Once the UNIX-BM V-Mount Battery Plate is securely mounted and connected to your camera and V-mount battery, it will provide continuous power. The multiple output ports allow for simultaneous powering of various devices, streamlining your setup.

• Powering On/Off: The plate itself does not have a power switch. Power is supplied directly from the attached V-mount battery to the connected devices. Turn on your camera and accessories as usual.
• Monitoring Battery Life: Monitor the battery level directly from your V-mount battery's display or your camera's battery indicator.
• Detaching Battery: To remove the V-mount battery, press the red release button on the side of the plate and slide the battery upwards.

Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your HEDBOX UNIX-BM V-Mount Battery Plate, follow these maintenance guidelines:

• Cleaning: Regularly wipe the plate and its connectors with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust and debris. Avoid using liquid cleaners or solvents.
• Storage: Store the plate in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures when not in use.
• Inspection: Periodically inspect the cables and connectors for any signs of wear, damage, or corrosion. Ensure the V-mount lock mechanism operates smoothly.
• Avoid Overloading: Do not exceed the maximum wattage (148W) or amperage (10A per D-Tap, 2.1A for USB) of the output ports to prevent damage to the plate or connected devices.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your UNIX-BM V-Mount Battery Plate, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

• No Power Output:
  • Ensure the V-mount battery is fully charged and securely attached to the plate.
  • Verify that all cables are properly connected to the camera and accessories.
  • Check the V-mount battery itself for any issues.
  • Some users have reported issues with internal fuses; if comfortable, a qualified technician may inspect the internal PCB board and metal backplate for any visible damage or loose connections.
• Intermittent Power:
  • Ensure the V-mount battery is seated firmly and makes good contact with the plate's terminals.

  • Check the camera's power input port for any looseness or damage.
• D-Tap or USB Port Not Working:
