4. Setup and Installation
The DesignMax DM2C-LP is designed for ceiling mount installation and features a low-profile backcan for fitting into confined spaces. QuickHold mounting arms facilitate easy and secure installation.
4.1 Mounting
- Prepare the Opening: Use the provided installation template to mark and cut the appropriate opening in the ceiling. Ensure there is sufficient clearance behind the ceiling for the speaker's backcan.
- Install Tile-Bridge (if applicable): For suspended ceiling installations, position the adjustable tile-bridge across the ceiling grid before inserting the speaker.
- Insert Speaker: Carefully insert the loudspeaker into the prepared opening.
- Secure with QuickHold Arms: The QuickHold mounting arms will automatically engage as the speaker is inserted. Tighten the screws on the front baffle to fully secure the speaker to the ceiling.

4.2 Wiring and Connections
The DM2C-LP supports both 16-ohm low-impedance and 70-volt/100-volt constant voltage operation via Euroblock connectors. Its 16-ohm design allows for up to four units to be connected to a single low-impedance amplifier output.
- Select Wiring Mode: Determine whether you will use low-impedance (16-ohm) or constant voltage (70V/100V) operation based on your amplifier and system design.
- Connect Wiring: Using appropriate gauge speaker wire, connect the amplifier output to the Euroblock connector terminals on the back of the speaker. Ensure correct polarity (+ to + and - to -).
- Set Tap (for 70V/100V): If using 70V/100V operation, adjust the tap setting on the speaker's transformer to the desired wattage (e.g., 16W, 8W, 4W, 2W, 1W).
