Setup
Installation Overview
The VTLBSD1 system requires careful wiring to integrate with your vehicle's electrical system. It is recommended to perform a bench test before full installation to familiarize yourself with the unit's functionality and wiring. Consult your vehicle's dealer or a professional installer if you are unsure about any steps.
Blind Spot Detector Wiring
The blind spot detector wiring is color-coded for ease of installation. Run all wires from the rear of the vehicle to the front.
- Connect the Blind Spot Detector (BSD) to its extension cable.
- Connect the extension cable to the BSD harness.
- Connect the BSD harness to the control unit.
- Connect the yellow connector from the BSD harness to the yellow LED cable.
- Connect the yellow LED cable to the yellow LED indicator.
- Connect the red connector from the BSD harness to the red LED cable.
- Connect the red LED cable to the red LED indicator.
- Connect the black wire to a ground point on the vehicle chassis.
- Connect the red wire to the ACC (Accessory) power source.
For audible alerts, connect the green wire to the backup light positive, the pink wire to the left turn signal, and the orange wire to the right turn signal.

License Plate Backup Camera Wiring
Wiring the license plate camera to a monitor or stereo system is straightforward, involving two main cables: the power harness and the video extension. Start wiring from the camera towards the monitor.
- Connect the license plate camera to the power harness cable.
- Connect the green trigger wire from the power harness to the reverse backup light positive. This activates the camera's LED backup lights when the vehicle is in reverse, ensuring clear color images in low light.
- Connect the red camera power wire to the reverse backup light positive. This ensures the camera powers on when the vehicle is in reverse.
- Ground the black wire from the power harness.
- Connect the power harness RCA video output to the video extension cable.
- Connect the red rear camera trigger wire to the reverse backup light positive. This wire is continuous to the monitor's rear camera trigger input.
- Connect the yellow rear camera video RCA jack to your monitor's or stereo's rear camera video input.
- Connect the red rear camera trigger to your monitor's or stereo's rear camera trigger input. This trigger, when the vehicle is put in reverse gear, will automatically switch the monitor to display the license plate backup camera feed.
Operating
Blind Spot Detection Functionality
The VTLBSD1's blind spot detection system uses digital microwave radar to detect vehicles or objects in your blind spots. The radars are directed to cover the left and right blind spots. When a vehicle is detected, visual indicators (LEDs) will illuminate. If audible alerts are enabled during wiring, a beeping sound will also be heard.
This system is particularly useful for lane changes on highways, where it detects faster-moving vehicles approaching from behind in adjacent lanes. It also provides crucial warnings when backing out of parking spots, detecting cross-traffic approaching at 0.35 mph or faster, and pedestrians.

Backup Camera Functionality
When the vehicle is shifted into reverse, the license plate camera automatically activates, and its feed is displayed on your connected monitor or stereo. The integrated LED lights ensure clear visibility even in low-light conditions. The camera provides a 175-degree diagonal viewing angle with lens distortion correction (LDC) for a wide and accurate view of the area behind your vehicle. Selectable trajectory parking lines can be enabled to assist with parking maneuvers.

Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your BOYO VTLBSD1 system, follow these maintenance guidelines:
- Cleaning: Regularly clean the camera lens and LED lights with a soft, damp cloth to remove dirt, dust, or debris that may obstruct the view. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
- Inspection: Periodically check all wiring connections for any signs of wear, corrosion, or damage. Ensure all cables are securely fastened and not exposed to excessive heat or sharp edges.
- Waterproofing: The camera is IP68 waterproof. However, avoid directing high-pressure water jets directly at the camera or radar sensors during vehicle washing.

Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your VTLBSD1 system, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
- No image on monitor:
- Check all video cable connections (RCA) between the camera, extension cable, and monitor.
- Ensure the camera's power wire is correctly connected to the reverse backup light positive and the black wire is grounded.
- Verify the monitor's trigger wire is connected to the reverse backup light positive.
- Confirm the monitor is set to the correct input source.
- Blind Spot Detection not working:
- Check all BSD wiring connections, especially the power (ACC and ground) and the connections to the control unit and sensors.
- Ensure the radar sensors are clean and unobstructed.
- Verify the LED indicators are properly connected.
- Intermittent operation:
- Inspect all wiring for loose connections or damaged insulation.
- Ensure stable power supply to both the camera and BSD system.
- Distorted or unclear image:
- Clean the camera lens.
- Check for any physical damage to the camera or lens.
- Ensure proper video signal connection; a loose RCA connection can cause interference.
