5. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your espresso maker.

5.1 Daily Cleaning

  1. Empty Drip Tray and Used Pod Bin: After each use, or when full, remove and empty the drip tray and used pod storage bin. Wash them with warm, soapy water, rinse, and dry. These parts are top-rack dishwasher safe.
  2. Wipe Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the machine with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
  3. Rinse Water Reservoir: Empty any remaining water from the reservoir and rinse it with fresh water. Refill if planning to use again soon.

5.2 Descaling (Recommended Monthly)

Mineral deposits can build up in the machine over time, affecting performance. Descaling helps remove these deposits.

  1. Empty the water reservoir.
  2. Fill the reservoir with a descaling solution according to the descaling product's instructions, or use a mixture of white vinegar and water (1:1 ratio).
  3. Place a large container under the brewing head.
  4. Run several long shot cycles until the reservoir is empty. Do not insert a coffee pod during this process.
  5. Rinse the water reservoir thoroughly and fill it with fresh water.
  6. Run several more long shot cycles with fresh water to rinse out any remaining descaling solution.
  7. Discard the water from the container.
