4. Setup

The D-Link AX1800 Mesh Wi-Fi 6 Range Extender can be set up quickly using the D-Link Wi-Fi app or the WPS button.

4.1. App-Based Setup (Recommended)

  1. Download the free D-Link Wi-Fi app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android).
  2. Plug the DAP-X1870 into a power outlet halfway between your router and the Wi-Fi dead zone.
  3. Open the D-Link Wi-Fi app and follow the on-screen instructions to add and configure your extender.
  4. The app's LED Smart Signal Indicator will help you find the best location for optimal connectivity.

4.2. WPS Button Setup

  1. Plug the DAP-X1870 into a power outlet near your existing Wi-Fi router.
  2. Press the WPS button on your existing Wi-Fi router.
  3. Within two minutes, press the WPS button on the DAP-X1870.
  4. The LED Smart Signal Indicator on the extender will turn solid green when a successful connection is established.
  5. Relocate the extender to a suitable location halfway between your router and the area needing extended Wi-Fi coverage. Ensure the LED indicator remains solid green for optimal performance.
