5. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and efficiency of your fume extractor. The primary maintenance task is filter replacement.
5.1 Filter Replacement
The 3-stage filter system requires periodic replacement to maintain optimal air purification. The frequency depends on usage and the type of fumes being extracted.
- Power Off and Unplug: Before replacing filters, ensure the unit is powered off and unplugged from the electrical outlet.
- Open Filter Compartment: Locate and open the filter compartment cover on the main unit.
- Remove Old Filters: Carefully remove the used filters. Dispose of them according to local regulations for hazardous waste, especially if used for lead-based soldering.
- Insert New Filters: Place new filters into the compartment in the correct order: first the high-density pre-filter, then the HEPA filter, and finally the activated carbon filter. Ensure they fit snugly.
- Close Compartment: Securely close the filter compartment cover.
