1. Introduction
Thank you for choosing the VIVOSUN Upgraded Electricity Usage Monitor. This device is designed to help you understand and manage your electricity consumption by providing real-time data on various electrical parameters. By monitoring power usage, you can identify energy-intensive appliances and make informed decisions to save energy and reduce electricity costs.
This manual provides detailed instructions on how to set up, operate, and maintain your electricity usage monitor. Please read it thoroughly before using the device to ensure safe and optimal performance.
2. Safety Information
- Do not disassemble or modify the device. Unauthorized modifications may lead to electric shock, fire, or damage to the product.
- Ensure the device is used within its specified voltage and current ratings to prevent damage or hazards.
- Keep the device away from water, moisture, and extreme temperatures.
- Do not connect appliances that exceed the maximum power rating of 3680W. The monitor features overload protection and will warn you if the load exceeds this limit.
- Always plug the monitor into a properly grounded electrical outlet.
- Unplug the device from the wall outlet before cleaning.

3.1 Key Features
- Electricity Usage Monitoring: Measures Power (W), Energy (kWh), Volts (V), Amps (A), Hertz (Hz), Power Factor, Maximum Power (W), time, and days.
- Upgraded Backlight LCD: Large, clear LCD display with a blue backlight for easy reading in various lighting conditions. The backlight activates when connected to AC power.
- Data Memory Function: Built-in 3.6V rechargeable battery backup retains power consumption data even when unplugged.
- Overload Protection: Notifies you if a connected unit draws more than 3680W, preventing potential hazards.
- 7 Display Modes: Provides various data views for comprehensive analysis.
3.2 Components
- LCD Display: Shows all measurement parameters.
- FUNCTION Button: Cycles through different display modes.
- COST Button: Used for setting electricity cost and displaying total cost.

4. Setup
Setting up your VIVOSUN Electricity Usage Monitor is straightforward:
- Plug In: Insert the VIVOSUN Electricity Usage Monitor into a standard wall outlet. The LCD display will light up, indicating it is powered on.
- Connect Appliance: Plug the appliance you wish to monitor into the socket on the front of the VIVOSUN Electricity Usage Monitor.
- Set Electricity Cost (Optional but Recommended): To calculate electricity bills accurately, set your local electricity cost per kWh.

- a. Press and hold the "COST" button for 3 seconds. The cost per kWh display will start flashing.
- b. Press the "FUNCTION" button to select the digit you want to change.
- c. Use the "UP" and "DOWN" buttons to adjust the value of the selected digit.
- d. Once the cost is set, press the "COST" button again to confirm and return to the main display.
5. Operating Instructions
The VIVOSUN Electricity Usage Monitor features 7 display modes, allowing you to view various parameters. Press the "FUNCTION" button to cycle through these modes.

5.1 Display Modes Explained
- Mode 1: Cumulative Time, Wattage (W), Cost
Displays the total time the appliance has been running, its current power consumption in Watts, and the accumulated cost. - Mode 2: Cumulative Time, Cumulative Electrical Quantity (kWh), Days
Shows the total time, total energy consumed in kilowatt-hours (kWh), and the number of days the monitoring has been active. - Mode 3: Cumulative Time, Voltage (V), Frequency (Hz)
Displays the total time, the current voltage of the power supply, and the frequency in Hertz. - Mode 4: Cumulative Time, Current (A), Power Factor
Shows the total time, the current drawn by the appliance in Amperes, and the power factor. - Mode 5: Cumulative Time, Minimum Power (Lo)
Displays the total time and the lowest power consumption recorded during the monitoring period. - Mode 6: Cumulative Time, Maximum Power (Hi)
Shows the total time and the highest power consumption recorded during the monitoring period. - Mode 7: Cumulative Time, Cost/kWh
Displays the total time and the set electricity cost per kilowatt-hour.
5.2 Resetting Data
To clear all accumulated data (time, kWh, cost, min/max power), press the "RST" button. This is useful when you want to start a new monitoring period for a different appliance or after moving the monitor.

6. Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and accurate performance of your VIVOSUN Electricity Usage Monitor:
- Cleaning: Wipe the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or immerse the device in water.
- Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the monitor in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Battery: The built-in rechargeable battery is for data memory function. It does not require user maintenance or replacement.
7. Troubleshooting
- Display is blank: Ensure the monitor is securely plugged into a live wall outlet. If the backlight is off, it may be due to the monitor not being connected to AC power (backlight only lights when connected to AC).
- "OVERLOAD" warning flashes: This indicates that the connected appliance is drawing more than 3680W. Immediately unplug the appliance from the monitor to prevent damage to the device or electrical circuit. Do not use high-power devices with this monitor for extended periods.
- Data not saving after unplugging: The monitor has a built-in battery for data memory. If data is not retained, ensure the monitor has been plugged in for some time to allow the internal battery to charge.
- Inaccurate readings: Ensure the appliance is fully plugged into the monitor and the monitor is fully plugged into the wall outlet. Avoid using the monitor with damaged outlets or extension cords.
