It supports up to 2000 users and offers multiple unlocking methods including RFID card, PIN, or a combination of both. The keypad features Wiegand 26 input and output, allowing it to function as a standalone unit or as a card reader connected to an access control panel. It also includes support for electric locks, magnetic locks, doorbells, and exit buttons.

4. Installation

Proper installation is crucial for the optimal performance and security of your access control system. Ensure all power is disconnected before beginning installation.

4.1 Mounting the Keypad

  1. Choose a suitable location near the door, ensuring it is protected from direct weather exposure if installed outdoors.
  2. Mark the drilling points for the mounting screws using the keypad as a template.
  3. Drill holes and insert wall plugs if necessary.
  4. Secure the keypad to the wall using the provided screws.

4.2 Wiring Connections

Refer to the "Line Sequence Diagram" and "Product Wiring Diagram" for detailed connection instructions. Incorrect wiring can damage the device or connected components.

5. Basic Operation

The BSTUOKEY K8EM supports multiple methods for unlocking the door.

5.1 Unlocking with Password

  1. Enter your 4-6 digit user PIN code.
  2. Press the # key.
  3. The door will unlock for the set relay time.

5.2 Unlocking with RFID Card

  1. Present your registered 125Khz RFID card to the keypad's reader area.
  2. The door will unlock for the set relay time.

5.3 Unlocking with Card + PIN

  1. Present your registered 125Khz RFID card to the keypad's reader area.
  2. Within 5 seconds, enter your 4-6 digit user PIN code.
  3. Press the # key.
  4. The door will unlock for the set relay time.

5.4 Using the Exit Button

If an exit button is connected, simply press the button to momentarily unlock the door from the inside.

5.5 Doorbell Function

Press the bell icon key on the keypad to activate the connected doorbell.

6. Programming Instructions

All programming operations are performed in programming mode. The default Master PIN is 123456.

6.1 Enter/Exit Programming Mode

6.2 Change Master PIN

  1. Enter Programming Mode.
  2. Press 0.
  3. Enter new 6-digit Master PIN.
  4. Enter new 6-digit Master PIN again to confirm.
  5. Exit Programming Mode.

6.3 Add User Cards/PINs

The keypad supports 2000 users. Each user is assigned a User ID (1-2000).

Method 1: Add Single Card

  1. Enter Programming Mode.
  2. Press 1.
  3. Enter a 3-digit User ID (e.g., 001 for User 1).
  4. Present the RFID card to be added to the keypad.
  5. The keypad will beep to confirm.
  6. To add more cards, repeat steps 3-4.
  7. Exit Programming Mode.

Method 2: Add Multiple Cards (Sequential)

  1. Enter Programming Mode.
  2. Press 2.
  3. Present the first RFID card to be added.
  4. Present subsequent RFID cards one by one.
  5. When finished, press # to save and exit this mode.
  6. Exit Programming Mode.

Method 3: Add User PIN

  1. Enter Programming Mode.
  2. Press 1.
  3. Enter a 3-digit User ID (e.g., 002 for User 2).
  4. Enter a 4-6 digit user PIN.
  5. Press #.
  6. Enter the same user PIN again to confirm.
  7. Press #.
  8. Exit Programming Mode.

Method 4: Add Card + PIN User

  1. Enter Programming Mode.
  2. Press 1.
  3. Enter a 3-digit User ID.
  4. Present the RFID card.
  5. Enter a 4-6 digit user PIN.
  6. Press #.
  7. Enter the same user PIN again to confirm.
  8. Press #.
  9. Exit Programming Mode.

6.4 Delete User Cards/PINs

Method 1: Delete by User ID

  1. Enter Programming Mode.
  2. Press 3.
  3. Enter the 3-digit User ID to delete.
  4. Press #.
  5. Exit Programming Mode.

Method 2: Delete by Card

  1. Enter Programming Mode.
  2. Press 4.
  3. Present the RFID card to be deleted to the keypad.
  4. The keypad will beep to confirm deletion.
  5. To delete more cards, repeat step 3.
  6. Exit Programming Mode.

6.5 Set Door Relay Time

This sets how long the door remains unlocked after a valid entry (0-99 seconds).

  1. Enter Programming Mode.
  2. Press 5.
  3. Enter a 2-digit time (e.g., 05 for 5 seconds).
  4. Press #.
  5. Exit Programming Mode.

6.6 Set Access Mode

This determines how users can unlock the door.

  1. Enter Programming Mode.
  2. Press 6.
  3. Choose one of the following options:
    • 0: Card or PIN (default)
    • 1: Card only
    • 2: PIN only
    • 3: Card + PIN
  4. Press #.
  5. Exit Programming Mode.

6.7 Factory Reset

This will delete all user data and restore the Master PIN to 123456. Use with caution.

  1. Disconnect power from the keypad.
  2. Press and hold the # key.
  3. While holding #, reconnect power.
  4. Release the # key after a few seconds.
  5. The keypad will beep to confirm the reset.
