Setup Instructions
Follow these steps to assemble and install your BONTEC monitor arm.
Step 1: Choose Mounting Method
Your monitor arm offers two installation options: Desk Clamp or Grommet Base. Select the method suitable for your desk.
1. Desk Clamp Installation
- Attach the C-clamp to the bottom of the desk pole using the provided screws.
- Position the clamp on the edge of your desk. Ensure the desk thickness is between 10mm and 100mm.
- Tighten the clamp screw firmly until the pole is securely fixed to the desk.
2. Grommet Base Installation
- If your desk has a grommet hole (diameter 10mm-80mm), insert the grommet base through the hole.
- From underneath the desk, secure the base using the provided support plate and tightening nut. Ensure the desk thickness is between 10mm and 80mm.

Step 2: Attach Monitor Arm to Pole
Slide the monitor arm assembly onto the installed desk pole. Adjust it to your desired initial height and tighten the securing bolt on the arm collar using an Allen key to hold it in place.
Step 3: Attach VESA Plate to Monitor
- Carefully remove the detachable VESA plate from the monitor arm by sliding it upwards.
- Align the VESA plate with the mounting holes on the back of your monitor. Use the appropriate screws (M4 or M5, typically provided) and washers to secure the plate to the monitor. Do not overtighten.

Step 4: Mount Monitor to Arm
With the VESA plate securely attached to your monitor, carefully slide the monitor (with the plate) back onto the VESA head of the monitor arm. Ensure it clicks into place and then tighten the locking screw to prevent accidental detachment.
Step 5: Cable Management
Route your monitor's power and video cables through the integrated cable clips located along the arm and down the pole. This helps maintain a tidy and organized workspace.

Operating Instructions (Adjustments)
The BONTEC monitor arm offers various adjustments to customize your viewing experience.
- Height Adjustment: To adjust the monitor's height, loosen the securing bolt on the arm collar on the main pole. Slide the arm up or down to the desired position, then re-tighten the bolt firmly. The arm allows for up to 425mm of height adjustment.
- Tilt Adjustment: To change the vertical angle of your monitor (up or down), loosen the tilt bolt located on the VESA plate. Adjust the monitor to your preferred tilt angle (+/- 90 degrees) and then re-tighten the bolt.
- Swivel Adjustment: The monitor arm features multiple joints that allow for horizontal swivel. The arm joints can swivel 180 and 240 degrees, while the VESA plate itself can swivel a full 360 degrees, allowing you to position your monitor precisely.
- Rotation Adjustment: The VESA plate allows for 360-degree rotation, enabling you to easily switch your monitor between landscape and portrait orientations without removing it.

Maintenance
- Regular Checks: Periodically check all screws, bolts, and connections to ensure they remain tight and secure. Re-tighten if necessary.
- Cleaning: Clean the surface of the monitor arm with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners, solvents, or harsh chemicals, as these may damage the finish.
- Lubrication: No lubrication is required for the moving parts.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Monitor is unstable or sagging. | Mounting bolts are loose; monitor weight exceeds capacity. | Ensure all bolts, especially the tilt and arm joint bolts, are securely tightened. Verify your monitor's weight does not exceed 8 kg (18 lbs). |
| Difficulty adjusting monitor height or movement. | Adjustment bolts are too tight. | Slightly loosen the relevant adjustment bolts (e.g., on the pole collar for height, or arm joints for swivel) using the provided Allen keys. Adjust, then re-tighten to prevent unwanted movement. |
| Cables do not fit into management clips. | Cables are too thick or routed incorrectly. | Ensure cables are routed individually and correctly through the clips. Do not force thick bundles of cables into clips. Consider using thinner cables if necessary. |
| Monitor cannot be rotated to portrait/landscape. | Rotation mechanism is stiff or locked. | Ensure no cables are obstructing the rotation. The VESA plate allows 360-degree rotation; apply gentle, even pressure. |
