Eko GBU Wireless System User Manual
Model: GBU | Brand: Eko
1. Introduction
This manual provides comprehensive instructions for the safe and effective use of your Eko GBU Wireless System. Please read this manual thoroughly before operating the device and retain it for future reference. The Eko GBU Wireless System is designed to provide a cable-free connection for musical instruments such as guitars, basses, and ukuleles, offering freedom of movement without compromising sound quality.
2. Product Overview
The Eko GBU Wireless System consists of two main components: a Transmitter and a Receiver. Both units feature a 1/4-inch (6.35mm) jack that can rotate 270 degrees for flexible connection to various instruments and amplifiers/mixers.

Components:
- Transmitter: Connects to your instrument (guitar, bass, ukulele).
- Receiver: Connects to your amplifier, mixer, or audio interface.
- USB Charging Cable: For recharging the integrated lithium batteries.
3. Setup
3.1 Charging the Units
Before first use, ensure both the Transmitter and Receiver are fully charged. Use the provided USB charging cable to connect both units simultaneously to a USB power source (e.g., computer USB port, USB wall adapter). The integrated lithium batteries are rechargeable.
- A full charge typically takes a few hours.
- The "CHARGE ID" indicator lights will illuminate during charging and turn off or change color when fully charged (refer to specific LED behavior in the Operating section).
3.2 Connecting the Transmitter to Your Instrument
Insert the 1/4-inch jack of the Transmitter into the output jack of your instrument (guitar, bass, or ukulele). Adjust the angle of the jack for a secure and comfortable fit.

3.4 Pairing the Units
The Eko GBU Wireless System units are typically pre-paired from the factory. Upon powering on both the Transmitter and Receiver, they should automatically establish a connection. If pairing is required, or if you experience connection issues:
- Ensure both units are powered on.
- Press and hold the "POWER PAIR" button on both the Transmitter and Receiver simultaneously until the pairing indicator lights (usually the "POWER PAIR" LED) flash rapidly, then turn solid, indicating a successful connection.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Powering On/Off
To power on each unit, press and hold the "POWER PAIR" button until the indicator light illuminates. To power off, press and hold the "POWER PAIR" button again until the light turns off.

4.2 Channel Selection
The GBU Wireless System operates on the 5.8G frequency band and offers 4 selectable channels to avoid interference. If you experience signal drops or interference from other wireless devices, you can change the operating channel:
- With both units powered on and connected, briefly press the "CHARGE ID" button on both the Transmitter and Receiver.
- Each press will cycle through the available channels. Ensure both units are set to the same channel for proper operation. The "CHARGE ID" LEDs typically indicate the selected channel (e.g., number of flashes or specific LED combination).
4.3 Performance Characteristics
- Low Latency: The system boasts a latency of less than 5 milliseconds, ensuring virtually no noticeable delay between playing your instrument and hearing the sound.
- Wide Frequency Range: It supports a frequency range from 20Hz to 20kHz, capturing the full spectrum of your instrument's sound.
- High Sampling Frequency: With a sampling frequency of 24bit/48kHz, the system delivers high-fidelity audio transmission.
- Operating Range: The signal can reach over 30 meters (approximately 100 feet) in open areas, providing ample freedom of movement during performances or practice.
5. Maintenance
5.1 Cleaning
Wipe the units with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or harsh chemicals, as these may damage the finish or internal components. Avoid exposing the units to excessive moisture.
5.2 Battery Care
- Recharge the units regularly, even if not in frequent use, to maintain battery health.
- Avoid completely draining the battery before recharging.
- Store the units in a cool, dry place when not in use for extended periods.
6. Troubleshooting
6.1 No Sound or Intermittent Signal
- Check Power: Ensure both the Transmitter and Receiver are powered on and have sufficient battery charge.
- Check Connection: Verify that both units are securely plugged into the instrument and amplifier/mixer.
- Re-pair Units: If the connection is lost, try re-pairing the units as described in Section 3.4.
- Change Channel: Interference from other 5.8G devices can cause signal issues. Cycle through the 4 available channels (Section 4.2) to find a clear frequency.
- Range: Ensure you are within the 30-meter operating range and that there are no significant obstructions (e.g., thick walls) between the units.
6.2 Battery Life Issues
- Full Charge: Ensure units are fully charged before use.
- Battery Degradation: Over time, rechargeable batteries may degrade. If battery life significantly diminishes despite proper charging, it may indicate the end of the battery's lifespan.
