  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Inspect for any signs of damage during transit. Retain packaging for future storage or transport.

  2. Placement: Place the CD-2SQF control unit on a stable, level, and heat-resistant surface. Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit.

  3. Connect Soldering Iron: Connect the T210 soldering iron cable to the designated port on the front of the CD control unit. Ensure the connection is secure.

  4. Prepare Cleaning Station:

    • Insert the CL6210 brass wool into its designated compartment on the station.
    • Moisten the S0354 sponge with clean water and place it in its compartment. The sponge should be damp, not soaking wet.

  5. Power Connection: Connect the power plug to the power input on the rear of the CD control unit. Then, plug the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet (230V AC, 50/60Hz).

  6. Initial Power On: Press the power button on the unit. The LED display will illuminate, indicating the station is ready for operation.

3. Operating the Soldering Station

3.1. Basic Operation

  1. Power On/Off: Press the power button to turn the station on or off. The display will show the current temperature and power status.

  2. Temperature Adjustment: Use the UP and DOWN arrow buttons on the control unit to adjust the desired soldering temperature. The temperature range is 90-450 °C.

  3. Tip Cleaning: Regularly clean the soldering iron tip using the brass wool or the damp sponge. This removes excess solder and oxidation, ensuring optimal performance and tip longevity.

  4. Soldering: Apply the soldering iron tip to the joint to be soldered, then feed solder onto the heated joint. Ensure proper wetting and flow of the solder.

  5. Standby Mode: When the soldering iron is placed in its stand, the station automatically enters standby mode, reducing the tip temperature to prolong its life and save energy.

3.2. Advanced Features (Refer to full manual for details)

  • Menu Navigation: Use the MENU button to access advanced settings such as temperature presets, sleep mode settings, and unit calibration.
  • PIN Protection: The station may feature a PIN protection option to prevent unauthorized temperature changes.
  • Firmware Updates: JBC may release firmware updates for enhanced functionality. Consult the official JBC website for instructions.

4. Maintenance and Care

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your JBC CD-2SQF soldering station.

  • Tip Maintenance: Always tin the soldering iron tip with a small amount of solder before storing it or turning off the station. This prevents oxidation.

  • Cleaning the Station:

    • Wipe the control unit and stand with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
    • Periodically replace the brass wool and sponge as they wear out or become excessively dirty.

  • Cable Inspection: Regularly inspect the soldering iron cable and power cord for any signs of damage, fraying, or kinks. Replace damaged cables immediately.

  • Storage: When not in use for extended periods, disconnect the station from power and store it in a clean, dry environment.
