- Step 1: Turn Off Power
Locate your circuit breaker and turn off the power to the switch you are replacing. Verify the power is off using a voltage tester. - Step 2: Identify Wires
Carefully remove your existing wall plate and switch. Use an electric test pencil to identify the live wire. - Step 3: Wiring the Smart Switch
