Setup and Installation
Unpacking the Scale:
Carefully remove the scale from its packaging. Inspect all components for any signs of damage during transit. Retain the original packaging for future transport or storage.

Placement:
- Place the scale on a firm, stable, and level surface, free from vibrations.
- Avoid direct sunlight, drafts, or rapid temperature changes, which can affect accuracy.
- Ensure adequate space around the scale for operation and cleaning.
Leveling the Scale:
The ABW 8 scale is equipped with adjustable feet and a spirit level bubble. Adjust the feet until the bubble is centered within the circle, indicating the scale is level.

Power Connection:
Connect the supplied AC adapter to the power input port on the scale and then to a suitable power outlet. The internal rechargeable battery will begin charging automatically. The scale can be operated while charging.
Operating Instructions
Basic Weighing:
- Press the Power button to turn on the scale.
- Wait for the display to show "0.000" and the stability indicator to appear.
- Place the item to be weighed on the center of the stainless steel pan.
- Read the weight displayed on the LED screen.

Tare Function:
To weigh an item in a container, first place the empty container on the pan. Press the Zero/Tare button. The display will return to "0.000". Now, place the item inside the container, and the scale will display only the net weight of the item.
Changing Weighing Units:
The ABW 8 supports multiple weighing units (g, kg, lb, oz, lb:oz). To cycle through available units, press the FUNC button repeatedly until the desired unit is displayed.
Parts Counting:
- With the scale displaying zero, press the FUNC button until "COUNT" mode is indicated (if applicable, consult full manual for specific mode entry).
- Place a known quantity of items (e.g., 10, 20, 50) on the pan.
- Follow the on-screen prompts or use the FUNC button to confirm the sample size.
- Remove the sample and place the bulk quantity of items on the pan. The display will show the total count.
Checkweighing:
The checkweighing function allows you to set upper and lower weight limits. The scale will indicate if the weighed item is below, within, or above these limits using color-changing LEDs (if equipped) or on-screen indicators.
- Enter checkweighing mode (refer to the full manual for specific steps).
- Set the desired upper and lower limits.
- Place items on the pan. The scale will visually indicate if the weight is within tolerance.
Maintenance and Cleaning
General Cleaning:
Due to its IP67 rating, the ABW 8 scale can be easily cleaned. Use a damp cloth with mild detergent to wipe down the exterior surfaces. The stainless steel pan is removable for thorough cleaning.

Washdown Procedure:
The scale can be hosed down for comprehensive cleaning. Ensure all port covers (if any) are securely closed before washing. After washing, allow the scale to air dry completely or wipe it down with a clean, dry cloth.
