2. Setup
2.1 Attaching the Neck Strap and Lens Covers
Attach the provided neck strap to the binocular's strap lugs. The eyepiece cover features slots to thread the neck strap through, preventing loss of the cover. The objective lens covers are designed to remain attached to the binoculars, ensuring they are not misplaced during use.

2.2 Adjusting Eyecups
The eyecups are adjustable to accommodate users with or without eyeglasses. Rotate the eyecups outwards for use without glasses to achieve a wider field of view and optimal eye relief. If wearing eyeglasses, rotate the eyecups inwards to their lowest position to allow your glasses to sit closer to the eyepieces, maintaining a full field of view.

2.3 Adjusting Interpupillary Distance (IPD)
Hold the binoculars up to your eyes and look through them. Adjust the distance between the two barrels by moving them closer together or farther apart until you see a single, clear, circular field of view. This ensures both eyepieces are aligned with your eyes.
2.4 Diopter Adjustment
Not all users have the same focus in both eyes. To compensate for this, the right eyepiece features a diopter adjustment ring. Follow these steps for proper adjustment:
- Cover the right objective lens (the larger lens at the front) with its cap.
- Look through the binoculars with your left eye and use the central focus knob to focus on a distant object until it is sharp.
- Uncover the right objective lens and cover the left objective lens.
- Look through the binoculars with your right eye and use the diopter adjustment ring on the right eyepiece to focus on the same distant object until it is sharp. Do not use the central focus knob for this step.
- Once adjusted, the diopter setting should remain correct for your eyes. You will then only need to use the central focus knob for general focusing.

3. Operation
3.1 Focusing
After performing the initial diopter adjustment, use the large central focus knob to bring objects into sharp focus. Turn the knob slowly until the image is clear.
3.2 Tripod Mounting
For extended viewing sessions or increased stability, the TrailSeeker ED 8x32 Binocular is tripod adaptable. Locate the threaded adapter port on the front hinge of the binoculars (often covered by a small cap). Remove the cap and screw in a standard binocular tripod adapter (not included), which can then be mounted onto any standard photographic tripod.

4. Maintenance
4.1 Cleaning the Optics
To clean the lenses, use the provided lens cloth or a soft, lint-free cloth. Gently wipe the lens surface to remove dust or smudges. For stubborn marks, a small amount of lens cleaning fluid designed for optics can be applied to the cloth, not directly to the lens.
4.2 Storage
When not in use, store the binoculars in their protective soft carrying case. Ensure all lens caps are in place to protect the optics from dust and scratches. Store in a cool, dry place.
4.3 Waterproof and Fogproof Features
The binoculars are fully waterproof and filled with dry nitrogen gas, preventing internal fogging of the lenses in humid or damp conditions. While designed for outdoor use, avoid submerging the binoculars in water for extended periods.
5. Troubleshooting
If you experience difficulty achieving a clear image, ensure the following:
- Interpupillary Distance: Verify that the distance between the barrels is correctly adjusted for your eyes, showing a single circular field of view.
- Diopter Setting: Confirm that the diopter adjustment (Section 2.4) has been correctly set for your right eye. An incorrect diopter setting can lead to an inability to achieve sharp focus with both eyes.
- Eyecup Position: Ensure eyecups are correctly positioned for your use (extended for non-eyeglass wearers, retracted for eyeglass wearers).
- Lens Cleanliness: Check for any smudges or dirt on the objective or eyepiece lenses and clean them as described in Section 4.1.
