Important Safeguards
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following:
- Read all instructions before operating the appliance.
- Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
- To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse cord, plugs, or the heating base in water or other liquid.
- Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
- Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts.
- Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner. Return appliance to the nearest authorized service facility for examination, repair, or adjustment.
- The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may cause injuries.
- Do not use outdoors.
- Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
- Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
- Extreme caution must be used when moving an appliance containing hot oil or other hot liquids.
- Always attach plug to appliance first, then plug cord into the wall outlet. To disconnect, turn any control to "OFF", then remove plug from wall outlet.
- Do not use appliance for other than intended use.
- Avoid sudden temperature changes, such as adding refrigerated foods into a heated pot.
- This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to modify the plug in any way.

Setup
Before First Use
- Carefully unpack the slow cooker and remove all packaging materials.
- Wash the stoneware insert and glass lid in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely. The stoneware insert is also dishwasher safe.
- Wipe the exterior of the heating base with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the heating base in water.
- Ensure all parts are dry before assembly and use.
Placement
Place the slow cooker on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface, away from walls or cabinets to allow for proper ventilation. Ensure the power cord is not dangling where it can be pulled or tripped over.
Operating Instructions
Using Your Slow Cooker
- Place the stoneware insert into the heating base.
- Add your ingredients to the stoneware insert. Do not overfill; leave at least 1 inch of space from the rim.
- Place the glass lid securely on the stoneware insert.
- Plug the power cord into a standard 120V AC electrical outlet.
- Turn the control knob to your desired setting:
- LOW: For slow, gentle cooking over a longer period.
- HIGH: For faster cooking.
- WARM: To keep cooked food at a serving temperature. Do not use the WARM setting for cooking raw food.
- Once cooking is complete, turn the control knob to "OFF" and unplug the appliance from the wall outlet.
- Always use oven mitts when handling the hot stoneware insert or lid.
Cooking Guidelines
- Cooking times may vary based on the recipe, ingredients, and desired doneness.
- For best results, avoid lifting the lid frequently during cooking, as this releases heat and extends cooking time.
- Liquids generally do not evaporate in a slow cooker as they do in conventional cooking. Reduce liquid amounts in recipes if necessary.
- Root vegetables (e.g., carrots, potatoes) cook slower than meat. Place them at the bottom of the stoneware insert.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Cleaning
- Always unplug the slow cooker and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
- The stoneware insert and glass lid are dishwasher safe. Alternatively, they can be washed by hand with warm, soapy water. Avoid abrasive cleaners or scouring pads that may scratch surfaces.
- Wipe the exterior of the heating base with a soft, damp cloth. Do not immerse the heating base in water or any other liquid.
- For stubborn food residue on the stoneware insert, fill it with warm, soapy water and let it soak for a few hours before cleaning.
Storage
Ensure all parts are clean and dry before storing. Store the slow cooker in a cool, dry place. You can store the lid inverted on the stoneware insert, and then place the insert inside the heating base for compact storage.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Appliance does not turn on. | Not plugged in; power outlet not functioning. | Ensure the plug is securely inserted into a working electrical outlet. Test the outlet with another appliance. |
| Food is not cooking properly or is cooking too slowly. | Lid not sealed properly; incorrect heat setting; too much liquid. | Ensure the lid is seated correctly. Verify the heat setting (LOW/HIGH). Reduce liquid in recipe if necessary. Avoid lifting the lid frequently. |
| Food is sticking to the stoneware insert. | Insufficient liquid; food cooked too long on high heat. | Ensure adequate liquid is used. Consider cooking on a lower setting for longer. Soaking the insert after use can help with cleaning. |
| Lid "pops" or makes noise during heating/cooling. | Normal expansion/contraction of glass due to temperature changes. | This is generally normal for tempered glass. Ensure the lid is not cracked or damaged. If damage occurs, discontinue use and replace the lid. |
