6. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the KVM switch. Do not use liquid or aerosol cleaners.
- Ventilation: Ensure the KVM switch has adequate ventilation to prevent overheating. Do not block ventilation openings.
- Power: Always use the provided DC 12V power adapter. Disconnect power during electrical storms or when unused for long periods.
- Cable Management: Keep cables organized and free from kinks or excessive bending to prevent damage.
7. Troubleshooting
- No Display/Flickering:
- Ensure all DisplayPort cables are securely connected.
- Verify that the correct input is selected on the KVM switch.
- Check monitor input settings to ensure DisplayPort is selected.
- Some DisplayPort products, including this model, do not feature EDID emulation. This may cause display issues or window rearrangement when switching inputs. Consider using an EDID emulator if this is a persistent problem.
- Try restarting the KVM switch and then the computers/monitors.
- Keyboard/Mouse Not Responding:
- Ensure the USB A/B cables are securely connected between computers and the KVM switch.
- Verify the keyboard and mouse are connected to the dedicated K&M USB ports on the KVM switch.
- Try connecting the keyboard/mouse to the USB 2.0 ports if the dedicated ports are not working.
- Restart the KVM switch.
- Wireless Bluetooth keyboards and mice are not supported. Use wired or 2.4GHz wireless (with USB dongle) devices.
- Audio Issues:
- Check all audio cable connections.
- Ensure audio output is selected correctly on your computer.
- Switching Delays:
- A brief delay during switching is normal as the system re-establishes connections.
- Ensure high-quality DisplayPort and USB cables are used.
