4. Setup

4.1 Charging the Keyboard

Before initial use, fully charge the keyboard. Connect the provided USB Type-C cable to the keyboard's USB-C port and the other end to a power source (e.g., computer USB port, USB wall adapter).

4.2 Connecting the Keyboard

The K12 supports both Bluetooth wireless and USB wired connections.

4.2.1 Bluetooth Connection

Ensure the keyboard's mode switch (located on the side) is set to 'BT' (Bluetooth).
Press and hold the 'Fn1' + '1' (or 'Fn1' + '2' or 'Fn1' + '3') keys for 4 seconds to enter pairing mode. The backlight will flash rapidly.
On your device (computer, smartphone, tablet), enable Bluetooth and search for 'Keychron K12'.
Select 'Keychron K12' to pair. The backlight will stop flashing upon successful connection.
To switch between paired devices, press 'Fn1' + '1', 'Fn1' + '2', or 'Fn1' + '3'.

Fn1 + Light Key (bulb icon): Cycle through backlight effects.
Fn1 + Arrow Up/Down: Adjust backlight brightness.

5.2 Hot-Swapping Switches

The K12's hot-swappable PCB allows you to change mechanical switches without soldering. This feature enables customization of your typing experience.

Power off the keyboard or disconnect it from your device.
Use the provided keycap puller to carefully remove the desired keycap.
Use the provided switch puller to gently grasp the switch from the top and bottom, then pull it straight up to remove it.
Align the pins of the new switch with the holes on the PCB. Ensure the pins are straight.
Gently press the new switch into place until it clicks. Do not force it.
Replace the keycap.

5.3 Key Functions
