2. Safety Guidelines

5. Operation

Once set up, operating your Inkbird ISV-200W is straightforward:

5.1 Preparing Food for Sous Vide

  • Season your food as desired.
  • Place the food in a vacuum-sealable bag.
  • Remove as much air as possible from the bag and seal it. A vacuum sealer is recommended for best results, but the water displacement method can also be used.

5.2 Setting Temperature and Time

You can set the temperature and time directly on the device or via the InkBird Pro app.

On the Device:

  1. Press the "SET" button to enter temperature setting mode. Use the "+" and "-" buttons to adjust the target temperature.
  2. Press "SET" again to switch to time setting mode. Use "+" and "-" to adjust the cooking time (hours and minutes).
  3. Press the "Run/Stop" button to start the cooking process. The device will begin heating the water to the set temperature.

5.3 Cooking Process and Alarms

  • Once the water reaches the target temperature, the device will beep (if enabled) and the timer will begin counting down.
  • Place your sealed food bag into the water bath, ensuring it is fully submerged. You may need to use weights to keep it submerged.
  • The device will maintain the set temperature for the duration of the cooking time.
  • Low Water Level Alarm: If the water level drops below the MIN line, the device will stop heating and sound an alarm to prevent damage. Refill the water to continue cooking.
  • Target Temperature Alarm: An alarm will sound when the water reaches the target temperature, indicating it's ready for food immersion.
  • When the timer expires, the device will sound an alarm. You can then remove your food.

6. Care and Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning the Circulator

  • Always unplug the device and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.

  1. Fill a pot with water and attach the sous vide cooker.
  2. Add 1 cup (240ml) of white vinegar to the water.
  3. Set the temperature to 60°C (140°F) and run the device for 30 minutes.
  4. After descaling, unplug the device, let it cool, and rinse the stainless steel sleeve and heating element thoroughly with clean water.
