Sous vide, meaning "under vacuum" in French, is a cooking method in which food is vacuum-sealed in a bag and then cooked in a precisely temperature-controlled water bath. This technique ensures even cooking, prevents overcooking, and retains moisture, nutrients, and flavor, resulting in consistently delicious and tender dishes.
