Setup and Installation

Unpacking

Carefully remove all packaging materials. Inspect the appliance for any damage during transit. Report any damage to your retailer immediately.

Location Requirements

Choose a location that is dry, well-ventilated, and away from direct sunlight or heat sources. Ensure sufficient space for air circulation around the appliance.

  • Minimum clearance: 5 cm at the back, 10 cm at the top.
  • Ensure the floor is level and strong enough to support the appliance's weight.

Electrical Connection

Connect the appliance to a dedicated, properly earthed power outlet. Do not use extension cords or multiple socket adapters.

Warning: Ensure the voltage and frequency match the ratings on the appliance's data plate.

Door Reversal (Optional)

The doors can be reversed to open from the opposite side. This procedure requires specific tools and should ideally be performed by a qualified technician. Refer to the detailed diagrams in the separate installation guide for step-by-step instructions.

Operating Instructions

Initial Startup

After installation, wait at least 4 hours before plugging in the appliance to allow the refrigerant to settle. Once plugged in, the internal light will illuminate, and the compressor will start.

Temperature Control

The temperature is controlled by a thermostat knob located inside the refrigerator compartment. Turn the knob to adjust the cooling level:

  • Setting 1: Least cold
  • Setting 5: Most cold

For optimal food preservation, a setting between 3 and 4 is generally recommended.

Food Storage Guidelines

Food Type Recommended Location Storage Tips
Fresh Meat & Fish Bottom shelf (coldest area) Store in sealed containers to prevent cross-contamination.
Dairy Products & Cooked Foods Middle shelves Keep covered.
Fruits & Vegetables Crisper drawer Do not wash before storing.
Bottles & Jars Door bins Ensure they are securely placed.

Freezer Compartment

The top compartment is the freezer. It is suitable for storing frozen foods and making ice. Do not store glass bottles or carbonated drinks in the freezer.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Defrosting

The refrigerator compartment defrosts automatically. The defrost water runs into a tray at the back of the appliance and evaporates.

The freezer compartment requires manual defrosting when the frost layer reaches about 3-5 mm thick. To defrost:

  1. Unplug the appliance.
  2. Remove all food items and place them in a cool box.
  3. Leave the freezer door open. Place towels at the bottom to absorb melting ice.
  4. Once defrosted, clean and dry the interior thoroughly before plugging back in.

Cleaning the Interior

Clean the interior regularly with a solution of lukewarm water and a mild, non-abrasive detergent. Rinse with clean water and dry thoroughly. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or bleach.

Cleaning the Exterior

Wipe the exterior surfaces with a soft cloth dampened with water and a mild detergent. For stainless steel surfaces, use a specialized stainless steel cleaner.

Condenser Coils

Periodically clean the condenser coils located at the back of the appliance using a soft brush or vacuum cleaner. This improves energy efficiency.

Troubleshooting

Before contacting service, check the following common issues:

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Appliance does not operate. No power supply. Check if the plug is properly inserted and the fuse/circuit breaker is not tripped.
Refrigerator not cold enough. Temperature setting too high; door left open; too much food inside; poor ventilation. Adjust thermostat; ensure door is closed; do not overload; check clearances.
Excessive frost in freezer. Door not sealed properly; frequent door opening. Check door gasket; reduce frequency of door opening. Defrost as needed.
Unusual noises. Appliance not level; objects vibrating inside. Adjust leveling feet; reposition items inside.
