4. Installation
4.1 Wiring Diagram

Figure 2: Back view of the TM619 with wiring terminals and specifications.
The TM619 timer switch features 5 terminals for connection. Refer to the diagram on the back of the unit and Figure 2 for proper wiring. Ensure all connections are secure and comply with local electrical codes.
- Terminals 1 & 2: Power Input (24VDC). These terminals supply power to the timer itself. Ensure a continuous 24VDC supply to keep the timer operational and maintain its internal clock and programs.
- Terminals 3, 4, 5: Switching Contact (Output). This is a single changeover switch (SPDT - Single Pole Double Throw) with 1 Normally Open (NO) and 1 Normally Closed (NC) contact.
- Terminal 3: Common (COM)
- Terminal 4: Normally Open (NO) - Contact closes when the timer is ON.
- Terminal 5: Normally Closed (NC) - Contact opens when the timer is ON.
The output contacts are rated for 16A at 250VAC (50/60Hz) for resistive loads, and 1HP at 125VAC, 2HP at 250VAC for inductive loads. For DC loads, it supports 20A at 30VDC.
4.2 Mounting
The TM619 is designed for panel mounting. It features mounting holes on its casing for secure attachment to a control panel or enclosure. Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit to prevent overheating.
5. Setup and Programming
Before programming, ensure the timer is powered. The built-in battery will charge when the unit is powered, maintaining settings during power interruptions.

Figure 3: Angled view of the TM619, highlighting the compact design and button layout.
5.1 Setting Current Time and Day
- Press and hold the CLOCK button.
- While holding CLOCK, press DAY to set the current day of the week (Mo, Tu, We, Th, Fr, Sa, Su).
- While holding CLOCK, press HOUR to set the current hour (0-23).
- While holding CLOCK, press MIN to set the current minute (0-59).
- Release the CLOCK button. The time and day are now set.
5.2 Programming ON/OFF Times
The TM619 allows for up to 16 ON/OFF programs. Each program consists of an ON time and an OFF time.
- Press the TIMER button once. The display will show "1 ON".
- Press DAY to select the day(s) for this ON program. You can choose a single day, specific days (e.g., Mo-Fr), or all 7 days.
- Press HOUR to set the desired ON hour.
- Press MIN to set the desired ON minute.
- Press TIMER again. The display will show "1 OFF".
- Repeat steps 2-4 to set the OFF day(s), hour, and minute for the first program.
- Press TIMER to advance to the next program ("2 ON", "2 OFF", etc.) and repeat the process for up to 16 programs.
- After setting all desired programs, press the CLOCK button to exit programming mode and return to the current time display.
Note: If you need to clear a specific program, navigate to that program (e.g., "3 ON") and press the MANUAL button. This will clear the settings for that ON/OFF pair.
5.3 Manual Override
The MANUAL button allows you to override the programmed settings temporarily or permanently.
- Press MANUAL repeatedly to cycle through the modes:
- ON: Output is continuously ON, ignoring programs.
- AUTO: Timer operates according to programmed settings.
- OFF: Output is continuously OFF, ignoring programs.
- When in AUTO mode, the timer will automatically switch between ON and OFF based on your programs.
5.4 Resetting the Timer
To clear all settings and reset the timer to its factory defaults, locate the small reset button (often recessed) on the front of the unit. Use a pointed object (like a pen tip) to press this button. This will clear all programmed times and reset the clock.
6. Operation
Once programmed and set to AUTO mode, the SINOTIMER TM619 will automatically switch the connected electrical equipment ON and OFF according to the precise times and days you have set. The LCD display will show the current time and day, along with the current status (ON, AUTO, OFF).
The timer's internal clock is highly accurate, with a hysteresis of 2 seconds per day at 25°C, ensuring reliable long-term operation. The built-in battery provides a black-out memory of up to 60 days, meaning your programs will be retained even during extended power outages.
7. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the timer. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as they may damage the plastic casing or LCD screen.
- Environment: Ensure the timer is installed in a dry environment, away from direct sunlight, excessive heat, and moisture.
- Battery: The internal battery is designed for long life and recharges when the unit is powered. No user maintenance or replacement of the internal battery is typically required.
- Connections: Periodically check the wiring connections to ensure they remain secure. Loose connections can lead to intermittent operation or electrical hazards.
8. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Timer display is blank or dim. | No power supply to the timer; internal battery fully discharged. | Check power input (24VDC) to terminals 1 & 2. Allow time for the internal battery to charge (several hours) after power is restored. |
| Timer does not switch ON/OFF at programmed times. | 1. Timer is not in AUTO mode. 2. Incorrect programming. 3. Overlapping programs. 4. Wiring issue. | 1. Press MANUAL until "AUTO" is displayed. 2. Review and re-enter programs carefully, ensuring ON/OFF times and days are correct. 3. Adjust programs to avoid conflicts. 4. Verify output wiring (Terminals 3, 4, 5) and load connections. |
| Time on display is incorrect. | Time not set correctly; internal battery low. | Reset and re-set the current time and day (Section 5.1). Ensure continuous power supply for battery charging. |
| Cannot enter programming mode. | Timer is locked or in an unusual state. | Press the reset button with a pointed object to clear all settings and then try again. |
| Output is always ON or always OFF. | Timer is in ON or OFF manual override mode. | Press MANUAL until "AUTO" is displayed. |
