This remote allows for easy testing and silencing of alarms without the need to physically reach each unit, enhancing safety and user convenience, especially for units installed in high or hard-to-reach locations.

Setup

1. Battery Installation

The remote controller comes with a pre-installed lithium battery. Before first use, you need to remove the insulating film.

  1. Pry open the rear cover by inserting the included key into the slot at the bottom of the remote controller's backside.
  2. Peel off the insulating film on the button cell. Ensure the correct polarity of the battery and close the cover.

2. Pairing with X-Sense Link+ Alarms

The remote controller needs to be paired with your X-Sense Link+ wireless interconnected smoke or carbon monoxide detectors to function.

  1. Ensure the insulating film has been removed from the battery as described above.
  2. Press the test/silence button on the remote controller 4 times consecutively to enter pairing mode. The LED indicator on the remote controller will flash continuously.
  3. Once pairing is successful, the LED indicator will light up and then go out in about 3 seconds.

Operating Instructions

1. Testing Alarms

To test all interconnected smoke alarms, simply press the test/silence button on the remote controller once. All paired alarms will sound, confirming their operational status.

2. Silencing Alarms

The remote controller provides a convenient way to silence false alarms without needing to reach the alarm unit directly.

Maintenance

Battery Replacement

The RC01 Pro remote controller uses a replaceable lithium button cell battery (CR2032). The battery is designed to support 1-year continuous use.

  1. When the battery is low, the LED indicator on the remote controller may flash intermittently or the remote may become unresponsive.
  2. Pry open the rear cover using the included key or a similar tool.
  3. Remove the old battery and insert a new CR2032 lithium battery, ensuring correct polarity (+ side up).
  4. Close the rear cover securely.

Dispose of old batteries according to local regulations.

Troubleshooting
