  1. Cooling Fan: Provides active cooling for internal components.
  2. AC Input Socket: Connects to the main power supply using the provided AC power cord.
  3. Fuse Block: Contains the protective fuse.

5. Setup

Follow these steps to set up your power supply:

  1. Placement: Place the power supply on a stable, level surface with adequate ventilation. Ensure the cooling fan and vents are unobstructed.
  2. Power Connection: Connect the provided AC power cord to the AC Input Socket on the rear panel and then to a grounded wall outlet.
  3. Initial Check: Before connecting any load, ensure all voltage and current adjustment knobs (A-COARSE, A-FINE, V-COARSE, V-FINE) are turned fully counter-clockwise to their minimum settings.
  4. Power On: Flip the Power Switch to the 'ON' position. The LED display should illuminate.

6. Operating Instructions

The Eventek KPS1505DF can operate in Constant Voltage (CV) or Constant Current (CC) mode.

6.1 Setting Voltage and Current (No Load)

  1. Ensure no load is connected to the output terminals.
  2. Turn on the power supply.
  3. Adjust the V-COARSE and V-FINE knobs clockwise to set the desired output voltage. Observe the Voltage Display.
  4. Adjust the A-COARSE and A-FINE knobs clockwise to set the desired current limit. This sets the maximum current the power supply will deliver. For initial setup, it is recommended to set the current limit higher than expected for your load, or to maximum if unsure.
  5. The CV indicator should be lit, indicating Constant Voltage mode.

6.2 Connecting a Load

  1. Turn off the power supply.
  2. Connect the positive (+) terminal of your load to the red output terminal (+) on the power supply.
  3. Connect the negative (-) terminal of your load to the black output terminal (-) on the power supply.
  4. If grounding is required for your application, connect the ground terminal of your load to the yellow GND terminal.
  5. Turn on the power supply. The voltage and current displays will show the actual output values.

6.3 Constant Voltage (CV) Mode

In CV mode, the output voltage remains constant at the set value, while the output current varies according to the load resistance, up to the set current limit. The CV indicator will be lit.

6.4 Constant Current (CC) Mode

If the load resistance decreases to a point where the current drawn exceeds the preset current limit, the power supply will automatically switch to CC mode. In this mode, the output current remains constant at the set limit, and the output voltage will drop to maintain this current. The CC indicator will be lit.

6.5 Using the USB Output

The 5V/2A USB output can be used independently to charge or power compatible USB devices. Simply connect your device to the USB port on the front panel.

7. Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and reliable operation of your power supply.

  • Cleaning: Disconnect the power supply from the AC outlet before cleaning. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Ventilation: Regularly check that the cooling fan and air vents are free from dust and obstructions. Use compressed air to gently clear dust if necessary.
  • Fuse Replacement: If the power supply fails to turn on, the fuse may need replacement. Disconnect the power cord, locate the fuse block on the rear panel, and carefully replace the fuse with one of the same type and rating (refer to specifications).
  • Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the power supply in a dry, dust-free environment.

8. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your power supply, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
No power/display offPower cord disconnected, AC outlet faulty, fuse blown.Check power cord connection. Test AC outlet. Replace fuse if blown (refer to Maintenance section).
No output voltage/currentOutput terminals not connected, voltage/current knobs at minimum, protection activated.Ensure load is correctly connected. Adjust voltage/current knobs clockwise. Check for short circuits in the load.
Power supply enters CC mode unexpectedlyCurrent limit set too low, load drawing excessive current, short circuit.Increase the current limit using A-COARSE/A-FINE. Check the load for faults or short circuits.
Overheating/Fan running constantly at high speedPoor ventilation, heavy load, internal fault.Ensure vents are clear. Reduce load if possible. If problem persists, discontinue use and contact support.
