Operating Instructions

Brushing Technique

Dentists recommend brushing for 2 minutes, twice a day. The Oral-B Smart 1500 features a built-in timer to assist you.

  1. Wet the brush head and apply a small amount of toothpaste.
  2. Place the brush head against your teeth at a slight angle towards the gumline.
  3. Press the power button to turn on the toothbrush.
  4. Guide the brush head slowly from tooth to tooth, allowing it to clean each surface for a few seconds. Do not scrub.
  5. The 360-degree visible pressure sensor will light up red if you are brushing too hard. Reduce pressure immediately to protect your gums.
  6. The in-handle quadrant timer will pulse every 30 seconds to indicate when to move to a different quadrant of your mouth. A longer pulse indicates the completion of the 2-minute brushing cycle.
  7. After brushing, press the power button to turn off the toothbrush.

Maintenance

Cleaning the Toothbrush

  1. After each use, rinse the brush head thoroughly under running water with the handle switched on.
  2. Remove the brush head from the handle and clean both parts separately under running water.
  3. Wipe the handle with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the handle in water.
  4. Clean the charging unit regularly with a damp cloth.

Replacing the Brush Head

Dentists recommend replacing your brush head every 3 months, or sooner if the bristles are splayed or worn. Indicator bristles will fade halfway to signal replacement is needed.

  1. Pull the old brush head straight off the handle.
  2. Push a new Oral-B replacement brush head onto the handle until it clicks.
