This docking station provides dual 4K HDMI outputs, a VGA port, Gigabit Ethernet, multiple USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 ports, a USB-C Power Delivery charging port, and a 3.5mm audio/mic jack. It is ideal for users requiring extensive connectivity for external monitors, high-speed data transfer, and network access.

Setup Instructions

1. Connect to Laptop: Plug the USB-C cable from the docking station into a full-function USB-C port on your laptop. Ensure your laptop's USB-C port supports video output (DisplayPort Alternate Mode) and Power Delivery for full functionality.
2. Connect Power (Optional but Recommended): For stable operation and laptop charging, connect your laptop's original USB-C power adapter (up to 100W) to the USB-C PD input port on the docking station.
3. Connect Displays:
   • For HDMI displays, connect HDMI cables from your monitors to the HDMI 1 and HDMI 2 ports on the docking station.
   • For VGA displays, connect a VGA cable from your monitor to the VGA port.
   • For DisplayPort displays, connect a DP cable from your monitor to the DP port.
4. Connect Peripherals: Plug in your USB devices (keyboard, mouse, external hard drives, USB flash drives) into the available USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 ports.
5. Connect Ethernet: For a wired network connection, plug an Ethernet cable into the Gigabit Ethernet port.
6. Connect Audio: If desired, plug your wired headphones or speakers into the 3.5mm audio/mic jack.

Operating Instructions

Once connected, the ZMUIPNG docking station operates as a plug-and-play device. No drivers are typically required for basic functionality on most modern operating systems (Windows, macOS, Chrome OS).

Display Configuration (Windows)

For Windows users, you can configure your display settings by right-clicking on your desktop and selecting "Display settings" or "Screen resolution". Here you can:

• Extend Displays: Each monitor shows a different part of your desktop, expanding your workspace.
• Duplicate Displays (Mirror Mode): All monitors show the same content.
• Set Primary Display: Choose which monitor is your main screen.
• Adjust Resolution and Orientation: Set the desired resolution and landscape/portrait orientation for each monitor.

Display Configuration (macOS)

For macOS users, navigate to "System Preferences" > "Displays". Here you can:

• Arrangement Tab: Drag and drop the display icons to arrange them as they are physically on your desk. Check "Mirror Displays" for duplicate mode.
• Display Tab: Select resolution and refresh rate for each monitor.

Important Note for macOS: macOS typically supports only one extended display via MST (Multi-Stream Transport) hubs. While you can connect multiple monitors, they may mirror each other or be limited to a single extended desktop. True triple independent extended displays are generally not supported by macOS through a single MST hub. The docking station supports dual 4K@30Hz or DP 4K@30Hz in mirror mode, and multiple 4K@30Hz displays in non-mirror mode, but not three distinct extended displays.

Power Delivery

The USB-C PD (Power Delivery) port on the docking station allows you to charge your laptop while using the hub. Connect your laptop's original USB-C power adapter to this port. The docking station supports up to 100W power input, providing sufficient power to your laptop and connected peripherals.

Compatibility Notes

For the dual/triple monitor function to work, the built-in USB-C port of your laptop must be a fully functional port that supports video output (DisplayPort Alternate Mode) and Power Delivery. Not all USB-C ports are created equal.

Please verify your laptop's USB-C port capabilities. Look for symbols next to the USB-C port that indicate video output (e.g., a DisplayPort symbol, a lightning bolt for Thunderbolt, or a 'D' for DisplayPort). If your USB-C port only supports charging or data transfer, the video output features of this docking station will not function.

Troubleshooting

• No Display Output:
  • Ensure your laptop's USB-C port supports DisplayPort Alternate Mode.
  • Check all cable connections (USB-C from hub to laptop, HDMI/VGA/DP from hub to monitor).
  • Try restarting your laptop.
  • Update your laptop's graphics drivers.
  • Test with a different monitor or cable if possible.
• Flickering Screen or Unstable Display:
  • Ensure the docking station is receiving sufficient power, especially if multiple high-power devices are connected. Connect a PD charger to the hub.
  • Reduce the display resolution or refresh rate.
  • Check for loose connections.
• USB Devices Not Recognized:
  • Ensure the docking station is securely connected to the laptop.
  • Try connecting the USB device to a different port on the hub.
  • If it's a high-power USB device (e.g., external HDD), ensure the docking station is powered via its PD port. Note: Only 1 HDD/SSD can be connected at the same time.
• Ethernet Not Working:
  • Check the Ethernet cable connection to both the hub and your router/modem.
  • Verify network settings on your laptop.
  • Restart your router/modem.
• Docking Station Gets Warm:

  It is normal for the docking station to become warm during extended use, especially when multiple ports are active and power delivery is in use. This is due to the dissipation of heat from the internal components. If it becomes excessively hot, ensure adequate ventilation and consider reducing the load (e.g., disconnect unused peripherals).
