4. Setup

4.1 Physical Connection

  1. Place the NVG468MQ in a central location in your home, away from obstructions and other electronic devices that may cause interference.
  2. Connect the power adapter to the gateway's 'Power' port and then plug it into an electrical outlet.
  3. Connect your internet service line (e.g., from an ONT, broadband modem, or cable line) to the appropriate 'Broadband' or 'Cable Line' port on the back of the gateway.
  4. For wired devices, connect an Ethernet cable from one of the four 'Ethernet' ports on the gateway to your computer or other network device.
  5. If using phone service, connect your phone line to the 'Phone Line' port.

4.2 Initial Configuration

After connecting the hardware, allow the gateway a few minutes to power on and establish a connection. The device may automatically download and install firmware updates, which can take up to an hour. During this time, the indicator lights will flash and may change colors. Do not power off the device during this process.

Once the lights indicate a stable connection (refer to Section 5.1), you can connect your devices via Wi-Fi using the SSID and password found on the label of your gateway, or via Ethernet.

5.1 Indicator Lights

The front panel of the NVG468MQ features several LED indicator lights that provide status information:

5.2 Wireless Connectivity

To connect devices wirelessly, locate the Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password printed on the label of your NVG468MQ gateway. Select this network on your device and enter the password to connect.

5.3 WPS Functionality

The NVG468MQ supports Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) for easy connection of compatible devices. Press the WPS button on the front of the gateway, then activate WPS on your device within two minutes to establish a secure connection without entering the password.
