Maintenance
Safe Removal:
Always safely remove the JumpDrive D35c from your device to prevent data corruption.
- Windows: Click the 'Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media' icon in the system tray, then select the JumpDrive D35c.
- macOS: Drag the drive icon to the Trash or right-click (Control-click) the drive icon and select 'Eject'.
- Android: Go to Storage settings and tap 'Eject' or 'Unmount' for the USB drive.
Physical Care:
- The drive features a durable metal casing and a protective rotating cap. Keep the cap closed when not in use to protect the connectors from dust and damage.
- Avoid exposing the drive to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, or moisture.
- Clean the exterior with a soft, dry cloth if necessary. Do not use liquid cleaners.
Troubleshooting
Drive Not Recognized:
- Ensure the drive is fully inserted into the USB port.
- Try a different USB port on your device.
- Test the drive on another computer or compatible device to rule out a device-specific issue.
- Restart your computer or device.
Slow Transfer Speeds:
- Ensure you are connecting the drive to a USB 3.0 port for optimal speeds. USB 2.0 ports will result in slower transfers.
- Close any unnecessary applications running in the background that might be consuming system resources.
- Large numbers of small files can transfer slower than a single large file of the same total size.
Drive Becomes Warm During Use:
It is normal for the drive to become warm during extended periods of high-speed data transfer. This is due to the compact design and efficient operation. If the drive becomes excessively hot or you experience data errors, discontinue use and contact support.
Data Corruption or Errors:
- Always perform a safe removal of the drive before disconnecting it.
- Check your device's disk utility or error-checking tools to scan and repair the drive if necessary.
- Ensure the drive is not physically damaged.
