4. Installation and Setup
4.1 Initial Preparation
- Unpack the filter cartridge from its protective packaging.
- Submerge the filter completely in cold water for approximately 15 minutes to remove any air bubbles. Gently shake the filter while submerged to aid in bubble release.
- Rinse the filter under running cold water for a few seconds.
4.2 Filter Installation
- Insert the prepared filter cartridge firmly into the funnel of your compatible water filter jug. Ensure it is seated correctly to prevent unfiltered water from bypassing the filter.
- If your jug requires a valve insert (only required on a few jug models), insert the blue valve component into the flow restrictor before placing the filter.

After installation, fill the jug with water. Discard the first two fillings to prime the filter. The filter is now ready for use.
5. Operation
Once installed, the Maxblue filter cartridge continuously purifies tap water as it passes through its multi-level filtration media. This process removes impurities and enhances the taste and odor of your drinking water.

- Filter Lifespan: The effective lifespan of each Maxblue filter cartridge is approximately 1 month. Replace the filter after this period or sooner if you notice a decrease in water flow or quality.
- Jug Cleaning: Regularly clean your water filter jug according to the manufacturer's instructions to prevent buildup and maintain hygiene.
7. Troubleshooting
7.1 Slow Water Flow
If you experience unusually slow water flow through the filter, consider the following:
- Air Bubbles: Air trapped inside the filter can impede water flow. Remove the filter, re-submerge it in water, gently shake it to release air, and then re-install.
- Improper Installation: Ensure the filter is firmly seated in the jug's funnel. A loose fit can cause bypass or slow flow.
- Valve Insert: If your jug requires a valve insert, ensure it is correctly placed. Refer to Section 4.2 for proper installation.
- Filter Lifespan: If the filter has been in use for close to 1 month, it may be nearing the end of its life and require replacement.
