5. Setup

5.1 Charging the Batteries

  1. Insert the 20V Lithium-ion batteries into the fast charger.
  2. Plug the charger into a standard power outlet.
  3. Allow approximately 1 hour for each battery to fully charge. The charger's indicator light will signal when charging is complete.

5.2 Installing the Batteries

  1. Ensure the hedge trimmer is turned off.
  2. Align the two charged 20V batteries with the battery slots on the trimmer.
  3. Slide the batteries into place until they click securely.

5.3 Removing the Blade Sheath

Before operation, carefully remove the protective blade sheath by sliding it off the blade. Store the sheath in a safe place for future use.

6. Operation

6.1 Starting the Hedge Trimmer

The HYCHIKA hedge trimmer features a dual-switch safety mechanism to prevent accidental starting.

  1. Press the Power Start Switch (with indicator light) to activate the tool.
  2. Simultaneously depress both the Front Control Switch Trigger and the Rear Control Switch Trigger. The blades will begin to move.
  3. To stop the trimmer, release either trigger.

6.2 Cutting Techniques

  • General Trimming: Hold the trimmer firmly with both hands. Use a sweeping motion to cut through hedges. The 24-inch dual-action blade is designed for efficient cutting.
  • Thick Branches: The trimmer can cut branches up to 1.0 inch in diameter. Position the blade carefully and allow the brushless motor to work through the material.
  • Vertical and Horizontal Cuts: Utilize the 180° rotatable handle for comfortable and precise cutting at various angles, including tops, sides, and bottoms of hedges.

7. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your hedge trimmer.

7.1 Cleaning

  • After each use, remove the battery pack.
  • Use a stiff brush or cloth to remove debris, sap, and leaves from the blades and housing.
  • Do not use solvents or abrasive cleaners, as they may damage plastic parts.

7.2 Blade Care

  • Regularly apply a light machine oil or blade lubricant to the cutting blades to reduce friction and prevent rust.
  • If the blades become dull, they can be sharpened by a qualified service technician.

7.3 Storage
