• Do not operate any heater with a damaged cord or plug or after the heater malfunctions, has been dropped or damaged in any manner.
• Do not use outdoors.
• To disconnect heater, turn controls to off, then remove plug from outlet.
• Do not insert or allow foreign objects to enter any ventilation or exhaust opening as this may cause an electric shock or fire, or damage the heater.
• Always plug heaters directly into a wall outlet/receptacle. Never use with an extension cord or relocatable power tap (outlet/power strip).
• This electric fireplace insert is designed for indoor use only.

Setup and Installation

The PuraFlame Klaus Electric Fireplace Insert is designed for easy installation. It can be placed directly on the floor or inserted into an existing fireplace opening.

Dimensions and Clearance

Ensure your fireplace opening or desired installation area meets the required dimensions for proper fit and safe operation. The overall dimensions of the insert are approximately 24.80 inches (Width) x 21.46 inches (Height) x 8.78 inches (Depth).

For optimal fit, the recommended fireplace opening dimensions are a minimum width of 22 13/16 inches and a maximum of 24 inches, and a minimum height of 20 1/4 inches and a maximum of 21 1/4 inches. The suggested depth is 8 3/16 inches.

Power Connection

This unit operates on a 120V corded electric power source. It is designed to plug directly into a standard wall outlet. DO NOT hardwire the unit or use an extension cord.

Placement

Place the insert on a flat, stable surface. If inserting into a fireplace, ensure the opening is clean and clear of obstructions. The unit is designed to sit securely without additional brackets or screws in most standard openings.

Operating Instructions

Your PuraFlame Klaus Electric Fireplace Insert can be operated using the included remote control or the control panel located on the unit.

Remote Control Functions

• ON/OFF Button: Powers the unit on or off.
• Flame Button: Cycles through 3 flame settings with variable intensity and brightness. The flame effect can be used independently of the heat function.
• Crackling Sound Button: Activates or deactivates the fire crackling sound effect.
• Heater Buttons (750W/1500W): Activates the fan heater at either 750W (low heat) or 1500W (high heat).

Control Panel Functions

• ON/OFF Switch: Main power switch for the unit.
• Flame Settings: Button to cycle through the 3 flame effects.
• Heater (750/1500W): Switch to select between low (750W) and high (1500W) heat output.
• Thermostat Dial: Adjusts the desired room temperature. The heater will cycle on and off to maintain the set temperature.
• Speaker: Located inside, provides the crackling sound effect.

Realistic Features

The insert features life-like resin logs and a traditional antique design with a three-sided interior brick wall, glass door, and mesh screen for a realistic appearance.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your electric fireplace insert.

• Cleaning: Ensure the unit is unplugged and cool before cleaning. Use a soft, damp cloth to wipe down exterior surfaces. Do not use abrasive cleaners or sprays.
• Ventilation: Keep the air intake and exhaust vents clear of dust and debris to prevent overheating.
• Log Set: The resin log set does not require maintenance. Do not attempt to remove or clean the logs while the unit is operating or hot.

Troubleshooting

If you experience issues with your fireplace insert, refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:

• No Power: Check if the unit is properly plugged into a 120V outlet. Ensure the ON/OFF switch on the control panel is in the 'ON' position. Verify that the circuit breaker has not tripped.
• No Heat: Confirm the heater function is activated via the remote or control panel. Check the thermostat setting; if the room temperature is above the set temperature, the heater will not activate.
• Flame Effect Not Working: Ensure the unit is powered on and the flame button has been pressed. If the flame effect is dim, check for any obstructions.
• Unusual Noise: A slight fan noise is normal during heater operation. If unusual or loud noises occur, turn off the unit and contact customer service.
