Installation Guide
Follow these steps for proper installation of your CLEAR CL-BC100W wireless backup camera. Refer to the diagrams for visual guidance.
- Step 1: Prepare for Camera Installation
- Confirm the desired mounting location for the camera and mark the screw positions.
- Clean the mounting surface thoroughly with a suitable cleaner to remove any oil, wax, or dirt.
- Mount the backup camera using the provided screws and adjust its angle for optimal viewing.
- Step 2: Connect Wireless Transmitter Power
- Connect the red wire of the wireless transmitter's power cord to the vehicle's 12V power supply that activates when the vehicle is in reverse (e.g., the backup lamp power line).
- Connect the black wire (ground) of the wireless transmitter's power cord to the vehicle's chassis.
- Connect the yellow video cable from the wireless transmitter to the camera's video output cable.
- Guideline Display: If the camera cable has a green wire, cut it to disable the parking guidelines. If it does not have a green wire, guidelines are not displayed.
- Image Orientation: If the camera cable has a white wire, cut it to switch the image orientation (e.g., for front view or specific backup applications). If it does not have a white wire, the image is set for standard backup use.
- Note: The wireless transmitter must be installed inside the vehicle. Installation outside the vehicle may cause malfunction due to exposure to elements.
- Step 3: Connect Wireless Receiver Video
- Connect the yellow video cable from the wireless receiver to the car navigation system's backup camera input terminal.
- Step 4: Connect Wireless Receiver Power
- Connect the red wire of the wireless receiver's power cord to the vehicle's 12V power supply that activates when the vehicle is in reverse (e.g., the backup lamp power line).
- Connect the black wire (ground) of the wireless receiver's power cord to the vehicle's chassis.
- Step 5: Connect Camera Connection Adapter (if applicable)
- If an adapter is provided, connect it to the dedicated connector on the back of your car navigation system. Then, connect the yellow video cable from the wireless receiver to this adapter.
- The connection method may vary depending on the manufacturer and model of your car navigation system. Refer to your car navigation system's instruction manual for details on its rear connectors.
- If an adapter is not included, connect the RCA cable from the wireless receiver directly to the designated backup camera input on the car navigation system.
- Step 6: Final Operation Check
- After completing all connections, always perform an operation check by engaging reverse gear to ensure the camera displays correctly on your car navigation screen.
- If the camera does not display or displays incorrectly, refer to the Troubleshooting section.
