Advanced Features
Z-Wave Repeater Functionality
The Minoston Z-Wave Mini Plug acts as a Z-Wave signal repeater. This means it re-transmits Z-Wave commands from your hub to other Z-Wave devices, extending the overall range and reliability of your Z-Wave mesh network. Place these plugs strategically to improve signal strength for devices further away from your hub.
Z-Wave Plus Long Range (LR)
This device supports Z-Wave Plus Long Range technology, offering significantly extended wireless range (up to 1300ft) when used with a compatible Z-Wave LR hub. This is particularly beneficial for larger homes or outdoor Z-Wave applications.
S2 Security and SmartStart
The 800 series Z-Wave chip incorporates S2 Authenticated Security, providing a higher level of encryption and protection against unauthorized access. SmartStart simplifies the pairing process by allowing devices to be added to the network by scanning a QR code, eliminating the need for manual button presses during initial setup.
Troubleshooting
Device Not Responding
- Check Power: Ensure the plug is securely inserted into a live wall outlet.
- Z-Wave Network: Verify the plug is properly included in your Z-Wave network. If unsure, attempt exclusion and then re-inclusion.
- Range: The plug might be out of range of your Z-Wave hub or other repeaters. Try moving it closer or adding another repeater.
- Overload: Ensure the connected appliance does not exceed the 15A/1875W maximum load.
- Factory Reset: If all else fails, perform a factory reset and attempt re-inclusion.
LED Indicator Behavior
- Solid ON: Device is powered and connected.
- Flashing (during pairing): Device is attempting to include or exclude from the network.
