4. Setup
4.1 Outdoor Sensor Installation
The 5-in-1 outdoor sensor is designed for easy assembly and flexible mounting. Choose a location that is open and free from obstructions to ensure accurate readings for wind, rain, and sunlight. Ensure the sensor is level for precise rain gauge readings.
- Assemble the wind cups and wind vane to the main sensor body.
- Insert 3 AAA batteries into the battery compartment of the outdoor sensor.
- Mount the sensor using the provided pole and mounting hardware. Various mounting options are available (on top of a pole, on the side of a pole, or directly to a flat surface).
- Use the integrated bubble level on the sensor to ensure it is perfectly horizontal.

4.2 Display Console Setup
Place the display console indoors, away from direct sunlight or heat sources. Plug in the power adapter to the console and a power outlet. The console will automatically begin searching for the outdoor sensor signal. Once connected, weather data will appear on the display.
4.3 WiFi Connection & App Synchronization
To connect your weather station to Wi-Fi and synchronize data with Weather Underground, Weathercloud, and the Sainlogic app, follow these steps:
- Ensure your display console is powered on.
- Press and hold the MIN/MAX/- button for three seconds to enter WAP (Wireless Access Point) mode.
- On your computer or smartphone, connect to the Wi-Fi network named "weatherhome-nnnn" (where 'nnnn' is a unique number for your console).
- Open a web browser and navigate to the console's IP address (usually 192.168.4.1) or follow instructions in the user manual to access the setup page.
- Enter your home Wi-Fi network details (SSID and password). Ensure your router supports 2.4GHz Wi-Fi.
- Input your Weather Underground and/or Weathercloud device IDs and keys. Check the boxes to enable data upload.

6. Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and accuracy of your Sainlogic Weather Station, regular maintenance is recommended:
- Cleaning: Periodically wipe the display console with a soft, dry cloth. For the outdoor sensor, gently clean the rain collector, wind cups, and wind vane to remove any debris (leaves, dust, insects) that might obstruct their movement or accuracy.
- Battery Replacement: Replace the outdoor sensor's 3 AAA batteries annually or when the low battery indicator appears on the display console.
- Sensor Placement: Regularly check that the outdoor sensor remains securely mounted and level, especially after strong winds or storms.
- Software Updates: Check the Sainlogic app or website for any available firmware updates for your console to ensure optimal performance and new features.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your weather station, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
- No Outdoor Sensor Data on Display:
- Ensure the outdoor sensor has fresh batteries and is powered on.
- Verify the outdoor sensor is within the transmission range (up to 328 feet outdoors) and free from major obstructions.
- Perform a sensor search on the display console (refer to your user manual for specific button presses).
- Inaccurate Readings (Temperature, Wind, Rain):
- Ensure the outdoor sensor is mounted level and free from obstructions.
- Clean the rain collector and ensure the wind cups/vane spin freely.
- Allow time for sensors to stabilize after initial setup or battery replacement.
- Wi-Fi Connection Issues:
- Confirm your Wi-Fi router is operating on a 2.4GHz band. The weather station does not support 5GHz networks.
- Double-check your Wi-Fi password and network name (SSID).
- If issues persist, try a factory reset of the console (refer to advanced troubleshooting in the full user guide or online resources for specific steps, as this may erase all settings).
