2. Setup
2.1. Battery Installation
- Locate the battery compartment on the back of the unit.
- Remove the battery compartment cover.
- Insert 2 AA batteries (not included) into the compartment, ensuring correct polarity (+ and -).
- Replace the battery compartment cover.

2.2. Initial Power-Up
Once batteries are installed, the unit will power on automatically and begin displaying current temperature and humidity readings. Allow a few minutes for the sensor to stabilize and provide accurate readings.
3. Operating Instructions
3.1. Display Overview
The large, easy-to-read display shows:
- Current Humidity (%)
- Current Temperature (°F or °C)
- 24-hour High/Low Humidity and Temperature records
- All-time High/Low Humidity and Temperature records
- Humidity Level Indicator (LOW, OK, HIGH)
- Trend Arrows for Humidity and Temperature

3.2. Touch-Activated Backlight
To activate the backlight, gently touch the top edge of the unit where indicated by the "touch light" icon. The backlight will illuminate for approximately 10 seconds, allowing for easy viewing in low-light conditions.


3.3. Switching Temperature Units (°F/°C)
To switch between Fahrenheit (°F) and Celsius (°C), locate the "°F/°C" button on the back of the unit (refer to Figure 2). Press this button to toggle between the two temperature units.
3.4. Clearing High/Low Records
To clear the 24-hour high and low records, press and hold the "CLEAR" button on the back of the unit for a few seconds. All-time records are typically reset only upon battery removal or factory reset.
4. Mounting Options
The AcuRite Pro Humidity Meter & Thermometer offers flexible placement options:
- Tabletop: Use the integrated kickstand on the back of the unit to place it on any flat surface.
- Magnet-Mountable: The unit features magnets on its back, allowing it to be securely attached to metallic surfaces like refrigerators or metal doors.

5. Maintenance
5.1. Battery Replacement
When the battery indicator appears on the display, it is time to replace the batteries. Follow the battery installation steps (Section 2.1) to replace the 2 AA batteries. Replacing batteries will reset 24-hour high/low records.
5.2. Cleaning
Wipe the unit with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these may damage the display or casing.
6. Troubleshooting
6.1. Inaccurate Readings
- Ensure the unit is placed in a location away from direct sunlight, heat sources, or drafts, which can affect accuracy.
- Allow the unit to stabilize for at least 20 minutes after initial setup or relocation.
- Replace batteries if the low battery indicator is displayed.
6.2. Display Not Working
- Check battery orientation and ensure they are inserted correctly.
- Replace with fresh batteries.
- If the issue persists, contact customer support.
