Introduction

The SECRUI Door Chime (Model M508+D7) is a wireless door sensor chime designed for both business and home use. It features adjustable volume, a wide operating range, and multiple chime options to alert you when a door or window is opened. This system aims to provide enhanced security and convenience by notifying you of entries or exits.

The system utilizes advanced wireless receiving technology, eliminating the need for complex wiring. With an operating range of up to 400 feet in open areas, it is suitable for various environments including shops, apartments, small to medium-sized houses, and large villas. The receiver and sensor can be expanded with multiple accessories, and different tunes can be set for different sensors, allowing for a customizable alert system.

What's Included

  • 1 × Sensor (battery included)
  • 1 × Plug-in receiver
  • 2 × Adhesive tape
  • 2 × Screw
  • 2 × Anchor
  • 1 × User manual

Setup and Installation

The SECRUI Door Chime is designed for easy installation using either adhesive tape or screws. Follow these steps for proper setup:

  1. Prepare the Sensor: Before installation, locate the insulating paper on the back of the door sensor. Gently remove this paper to activate the sensor's battery.
  2. Position the Receiver: Plug the doorbell receiver into any standard electrical outlet within the desired range of the door sensor. Ensure it is in a location where the chime can be clearly heard.
  3. Mount the Sensor:
    • Adhesive Mounting: Tear off the double-sided adhesive tape from the back of the door sensor and the magnetic strip. Stick them firmly to the door or window frame. Ensure the main sensor unit and the magnetic strip are aligned and placed close to each other (within 0.6 inches) when the door/window is closed.
    • Screw Mounting: For a more permanent fix, use the provided screws and anchors to mount the sensor and magnetic strip. Align the sensor and magnetic strip on the door/window frame, mark the screw holes, drill pilot holes if necessary, and secure them with screws.

Note: Clean the surface thoroughly before applying adhesive tape for optimal adhesion. For textured surfaces, screw mounting is recommended for better stability.

  4. Test the System: Open and close the door or window where the sensor is installed. The receiver should immediately alert you with the selected chime.

Maintenance

The door sensor unit is battery-powered. If the chime stops working or starts sounding repeatedly without the door opening, it may indicate a low battery. The sensor requires a 12V 23A battery.

To replace the battery:

  1. Carefully detach the sensor unit from its mounting location.
  2. Open the battery compartment (refer to the sensor's design for specific opening mechanism, usually a small latch or screw).
  3. Remove the old 12V 23A battery.
  4. Insert a new 12V 23A battery, ensuring correct polarity.
  5. Close the battery compartment and re-attach the sensor to its mounting.
  6. Test the system to ensure it is functioning correctly.

It is advisable to keep a spare 12V 23A battery on hand for quick replacement.

Troubleshooting

  • Chime not sounding:
    • Ensure the receiver is properly plugged into a working electrical outlet.
    • Check the sensor battery (refer to Maintenance section). A dead battery is a common cause.
    • Verify that the sensor and magnetic strip are correctly aligned and within the specified gap when the door/window is closed.
    • Confirm the receiver and sensor are paired. If not, follow the pairing instructions in the full user manual (if available).
  • False alarms or repeated chiming:
    • This can indicate a low battery in the sensor. Replace the 12V 23A battery.
    • Ensure the sensor and magnetic strip are securely mounted and not easily dislodged by vibrations or accidental bumps.
    • Check for any physical obstructions or damage to the sensor unit.
  • Limited range:
    • Obstacles like thick walls or metal structures can reduce the wireless range. Try repositioning the receiver or sensor.
    • Ensure there are no strong interference sources nearby (e.g., other wireless devices).
