Setup

Follow these steps to properly set up your UAYESOK Tactical Antenna:

  1. Unpack the Antenna: Carefully remove the antenna from its packaging.
  2. Inspect for Damage: Before connecting, visually inspect the antenna for any signs of physical damage.
  3. Identify Radio Connector: Ensure your two-way radio has an SMA-Male connector to match the antenna's SMA-Female connector.
  4. Attach the Antenna:

Align the SMA-Female connector of the antenna with the SMA-Male jack on your radio. Gently screw the antenna onto the radio connector clockwise until it is finger-tight. Do not overtighten, as this can damage both the antenna and the radio connector.

  5. Adjust Gooseneck (Optional): If desired, adjust the flexible gooseneck section to position the antenna for optimal signal reception or to protect it from physical impact. The gooseneck can be bent in various directions.
  6. Extend Antenna: Unfold the antenna to its full length (approximately 31 inches or 79 cm) for best performance during operation.

Operating Instructions

Once the antenna is properly connected to your radio, operate your two-way radio as usual. The UAYESOK Tactical Antenna is designed to enhance your radio's performance by improving its RX (receive) and TX (transmit) capabilities, thereby extending your communication range.

  • Ensure the antenna is fully extended for optimal signal performance.
  • For best results, operate the radio in an open area with minimal obstructions.
  • Avoid bending the main rigid part of the antenna excessively, as this may cause damage. Utilize the flexible gooseneck for adjustments.

Maintenance

Proper maintenance will ensure the longevity and performance of your antenna:

  • Cleaning: Wipe the antenna with a soft, damp cloth to remove dirt or dust. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Storage: When not in use, fold the antenna for compact storage. Store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Prolonged exposure to sunlight may affect its service life.
  • Inspection: Periodically check the SMA-Female connector for any signs of corrosion or damage. Ensure the gooseneck mechanism operates smoothly.
  • Environmental Protection: While the antenna has good waterproof effects, avoid submerging it in water for extended periods.

Troubleshooting

If you experience issues with your antenna, consider the following common troubleshooting steps:

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Poor signal reception/transmission Antenna not fully extended or improperly connected. Incorrect frequency band selected on radio. Environmental obstructions. Ensure antenna is fully extended and securely connected. Verify radio is set to the correct VHF/UHF frequency. Move to an open area.
Antenna feels loose on radio Antenna not tightened sufficiently. Damaged radio connector. Gently tighten the antenna. If still loose, inspect radio's SMA-Male connector for damage.
Gooseneck not holding position Excessive force applied to gooseneck. The gooseneck is designed for flexibility but has limits. Avoid extreme bending. If damaged, contact support.

If problems persist after attempting these solutions, please contact UAYESOK customer support.
