2. Safety Information

Always prioritize safety when operating the generator. Failure to follow safety instructions can result in serious injury or death.

  • Carbon Monoxide Hazard: Generators produce carbon monoxide, a colorless, odorless, poisonous gas. Operate the generator ONLY OUTDOORS and far away from occupied buildings. Never operate in an enclosed area.
  • Fire Hazard: Gasoline is extremely flammable. Always refuel in a well-ventilated area with the engine off and cool. Do not smoke while refueling.
  • Electrical Shock Hazard: Never operate the generator in wet weather or wet conditions. Ensure proper grounding.
  • Hot Surfaces: Engine components become very hot during operation. Avoid contact to prevent burns.
  • Grounding: Always ground the generator before using it. Refer to the user manual for proper grounding procedures.

3. Setup

Before first use, ensure the generator is properly prepared.

  1. Add Engine Oil: The generator is shipped without engine oil. Add the recommended 10W-30 4-stroke engine oil (included) to the engine crankcase. Use the provided oil funnel for easy filling. Check the oil level using the dipstick.
  2. Add Fuel: Fill the 5-gallon fuel tank with fresh, unleaded gasoline. Do not overfill.
  3. Positioning: Place the generator on a firm, level surface outdoors, away from windows and doors.

6. Troubleshooting

If your generator encounters issues, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • Engine Not Starting: Check fuel level, oil level, choke position, and spark plug.
  • No Power Output: Ensure AC breaker is 'ON'. Check for overload indicators.
  • Low Oil Level Shutdown: The generator will automatically shut down if the oil level is too low to protect the engine. Refill oil to the proper level.
