4. Operating Instructions
4.1. Securing Your Child in the Harness
- Place your child in the car seat.
- Bring the two buckle tongues together and insert them into the buckle until they click.
- Pull the harness adjustment strap at the front of the car seat to tighten the harness until it is snug against your child's body. You should not be able to pinch any slack in the harness straps at the shoulder.
- Position the chest clip at armpit level.
4.2. Adjusting the Canopy
The extra-large, adjustable 2-panel canopy can be moved forward or backward to provide shade and protection for your child. Simply grasp the canopy and adjust it to the desired position.
4.3. Using the Carry Handle
The multi-grip carry handle can be adjusted to several positions. Press the buttons on both sides of the handle simultaneously to adjust its position. Ensure the handle is in the upright carrying position when transporting the car seat outside the vehicle.
5. Maintenance
- Cleaning the Fabric: The seat pad and cozy cover are machine washable. Refer to the care label for specific washing instructions. Use mild soap and cold water on a gentle cycle. Air dry.
- Cleaning the Harness: Wipe the harness straps with a damp cloth. Do not machine wash or immerse harness straps in water, as this can weaken the webbing.
- Cleaning the Shell and Base: Wipe the plastic and metal parts of the car seat and base with a damp cloth and mild soap. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Storage: Store the car seat in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight when not in use.
6. Troubleshooting
- Car Seat Feels Loose After Installation: Recheck the installation steps carefully. Ensure the LATCH connectors are fully engaged or the vehicle seat belt is tightly secured and the lock-off is engaged. The car seat or base should not move more than 1 inch at the belt path.
- Harness is Difficult to Tighten/Loosen: Ensure the harness straps are not twisted. Check for any obstructions in the harness adjustment mechanism.
- Child's Head Slumps Forward: Verify the recline angle using the bubble level indicator. Adjust the base to a more reclined position if necessary, ensuring it is still within the acceptable range for your child's weight.
- Buckle is Hard to Latch/Unlatch: Check for any debris in the buckle mechanism. Ensure both buckle tongues are inserted correctly and simultaneously.
