4. Operating Instructions

4.1. Loading Bicycles (Race 4)

The Race 4 bike rack allows for easy loading and unloading of up to four bicycles.

  1. Position Bicycles: Place each bicycle into the designated rails on the bike rack.
  2. Secure Frames: Use the frame holders to clamp onto the bicycle frames. Ensure a snug fit without overtightening, which could damage the frame.
  3. Fasten Wheels: Secure the bicycle wheels to the rails using the provided straps. Ensure the wheels are stable and cannot move during transit.
  4. Final Check: Before driving, gently shake each bicycle to confirm it is securely fastened and will not shift.

4.2. Using the Nekkar 300L Transport Box

The Nekkar transport box offers additional storage capacity. Its design allows for easier loading compared to a roof box, potentially improving driving behavior due to a lower center of gravity.

  • Loading: Open the lid using the key. Place items inside, ensuring weight is distributed evenly. Do not exceed the maximum load capacity of 45 kg.
  • Closing and Locking: Close the lid firmly and turn the key to lock it. Verify the lid is fully secured before driving.
  • Accessibility: The transport box is designed for easy access to your belongings.

5. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Clean the bike rack and transport box with mild soap and water after use, especially after exposure to road salt or dirt. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
  • Lubrication: Periodically lubricate moving parts, such as hinges and locking mechanisms, with a suitable lubricant to ensure smooth operation.
  • Inspection: Regularly inspect all components for signs of wear, damage, or corrosion. Pay close attention to straps, fasteners, and electrical connections. Replace any damaged parts immediately.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the bike rack and transport box in a dry, protected area. The bike rack is designed for easy storage.
