Operating
The VM2 charger offers intelligent charging and power delivery capabilities:
- Battery Charging: Attach up to two V-Mount batteries to the V-Mount plates on the charger. The charger will automatically begin intelligent charging. For example, an Anton/Bauer GO 90 (98Wh 8A) battery typically charges in approximately 3 hours.
- Simultaneous Charging: The VM2 is designed to charge both batteries concurrently, optimizing your workflow.
- DC Power Output: The XLR4 DC output (16.7VDC 4.5A) can be used to power devices that accept an XLR input, either directly from AC power when the charger is plugged in, or by drawing power from attached batteries.
- Charging Indicators: Observe the indicator lights on the front panel to monitor the charging status of each battery.

Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Anton/Bauer VM2 charger, consider the following maintenance guidelines:
- Cleaning: Regularly wipe the exterior of the charger with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Ventilation: Ensure the built-in fan and ventilation openings are clear of obstructions to allow for proper cooling during operation.
- Storage: When not in use, store the charger in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Cable Care: Inspect power cables and connectors periodically for any signs of wear or damage. Replace if necessary.
Troubleshooting
The VM2 charger incorporates advanced safety features to protect your batteries and devices. If you encounter an issue, consider the following:
- Charging Stops Automatically: The intelligent safety technology in the VM2 will automatically stop charging if a fault is detected or if an attached battery reaches an overvoltage condition. Check the battery for issues or try a different battery.
- No Power/Indicators Off: Ensure the charger is securely plugged into a working AC outlet and the 'ON/OFF' switch is in the 'ON' position. Check the power cable for damage.
- Overheating: The built-in fan helps maintain optimal operating temperature. Ensure ventilation openings are not blocked. If the charger feels excessively hot, disconnect it and allow it to cool down in a well-ventilated area.
