4. Product Diagram and Features

Front Panel:

  • Toggle Buttons (1, 2): Press to manually switch between connected computers.
  • LED Indicators (L-ONLINE): Indicate which computer is currently active.
  • Hot Key ON/OFF: Button to enable or disable hotkey switching.
  • 2.0 USB HUB: Two USB 2.0 ports for connecting peripherals like USB drives, printers, etc.
  • Wired Remote Port: Connect the included wired remote control.
  • Microphone Interface: 3.5mm jack for microphone input.
  • Audio Interface: 3.5mm jack for audio output to speakers or headphones.

Rear Panel:

  • ON / OFF Switch: Main power switch for the KVM unit.
  • DC5V Power Interface: Connect the 5V power adapter.
  • USB Mouse Interface: Dedicated USB port for connecting your mouse.
  • USB Keyboard Interface: Dedicated USB port for connecting your keyboard.
  • HDMI Input Interface (IN A, IN B): Connect HDMI cables from your computers (one set per computer for dual monitor setup).
  • HDMI Signal Output (OUT A, OUT B): Connect HDMI cables to your monitors.

5. Setup Instructions

Follow these steps to connect your JideTech HDMI KVM Switch:

  1. Power Off Devices: Ensure all computers and monitors are powered off before making connections.
  2. Connect Monitors: Connect your two monitors to the KVM's HDMI Output ports (OUT A and OUT B) using HDMI cables.
  3. Connect Computers (PC1):
    • Connect HDMI cables from PC1's video outputs to KVM's HDMI Input ports for PC1 (IN 1A and IN 1B).
    • Connect a USB A-B cable from PC1's USB port to the KVM's USB Input port for PC1 (labeled PC1 USB).
  4. Connect Computers (PC2): Repeat step 3 for PC2, connecting its video outputs to KVM's HDMI Input ports for PC2 (IN 2A and IN 2B) and its USB port to the KVM's USB Input port for PC2 (labeled PC2 USB).
  5. Connect Keyboard and Mouse: Connect your USB keyboard to the KVM's dedicated USB Keyboard Interface and your USB mouse to the KVM's dedicated USB Mouse Interface on the rear panel.
  6. Connect Audio/Microphone (Optional): If desired, connect your speakers/headphones to the Audio Interface and your microphone to the Microphone Interface on the front panel.
  7. Connect USB Peripherals (Optional): Connect any additional USB devices (e.g., USB flash drive, printer) to the 2.0 USB HUB ports on the front panel.
  8. Connect Wired Remote (Optional): Plug the wired remote control into its dedicated port on the front panel.
  9. Power On: Connect the DC 5V power adapter to the KVM's Power Interface and plug it into a power outlet. Turn on the KVM switch using the ON/OFF switch on the rear panel.
  10. Power On Computers/Monitors: Power on your monitors and then your computers. The KVM should automatically detect the active computer.

6. Operating Instructions

The JideTech KVM Switch offers multiple methods for switching between connected computers:

6.1. Push Button Switching

Press the 'SELECT' buttons (1 or 2) on the front panel of the KVM switch to directly switch to the corresponding computer. The LED indicator will illuminate for the active computer.

6.2. Wired Remote Control Switching

Use the included wired remote control. Press button '1' to switch to PC1 or button '2' to switch to PC2.

6.3. Mouse Switching

Double-click the middle scroll wheel of your mouse to switch to the next active computer. This feature can be enabled/disabled via hotkey.

6.4. Keyboard Hotkey Switching

Ensure the 'Hot Key ON/OFF' button on the front panel is set to ON. Use the following hotkey commands:

  • Switch to PC1: Press [Scroll Lock] + [Scroll Lock] + [1]
  • Switch to PC2: Press [Scroll Lock] + [Scroll Lock] + [2]
  • Auto Scan Mode (5-second interval): Press [Scroll Lock] + [Scroll Lock] + [S]
  • Disable Mouse Switching: Press [Right Ctrl] + [Right Ctrl] + [M] + [Enter]
  • Enable Mouse Switching: Press [Right Ctrl] + [Right Ctrl] + [M] + [Enter] (toggle)

Note: Some keyboards may not fully support hotkey functions. If you experience issues, try disabling hotkey support via the front panel button or connecting the keyboard to a general USB 2.0 hub port.

7.1. Supported Operating Systems

7.2. Supported Devices

7.3. Resolution Support

The KVM switch supports resolutions up to 4096x2160@30Hz. It is also compatible with lower resolutions.

8. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the KVM switch. Do not use liquid or aerosol cleaners.
  • Storage: Store the device in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures when not in use for extended periods.
  • Cable Management: Ensure cables are not excessively bent or tangled to prevent damage.

9. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your KVM switch, please refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • No Display on Monitor:
    • Ensure all HDMI cables are securely connected to both the KVM and the computers/monitors.
    • Verify that the KVM switch is powered on and the correct input is selected.
    • Try connecting the monitor directly to the computer to confirm the monitor and computer video output are working.
    • Check the resolution settings on your computer. The KVM supports up to 4K@30Hz.
  • Keyboard/Mouse Not Working:
    • Ensure the keyboard and mouse are connected to their dedicated USB ports on the KVM's rear panel.
    • Try connecting the keyboard/mouse to the 2.0 USB HUB ports on the front panel (note: hotkey functionality may be limited).
    • If using hotkeys, ensure the 'Hot Key ON/OFF' button is enabled. Some specialized keyboards (e.g., gaming keyboards) may have compatibility issues with hotkeys; try a standard keyboard for testing.
    • Reconnect the USB A-B cables from the computers to the KVM.
  • Audio Issues:
    • Ensure audio cables are correctly connected to the KVM's audio interfaces and your speakers/microphone.
    • Check audio output settings on your computer.
  • Switching Delays:
    • A slight delay during switching is normal as the KVM re-establishes connections.
    • Ensure all cables are of good quality and properly seated.
