Food Storage Guidelines:

  • Always store food in airtight containers or freezer bags to prevent freezer burn and odor transfer.
  • Label and date all frozen items.
  • Do not place hot food directly into the freezer; allow it to cool down first.
  • Avoid overloading the freezer, as this can hinder air circulation and reduce freezing efficiency.

5. Care and Maintenance

Cleaning:

  • Always unplug the freezer before cleaning.
  • Clean the interior with a solution of mild detergent and warm water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely.
  • Clean the exterior with a soft cloth and mild detergent. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Periodically clean the condenser coils at the back of the freezer with a soft brush or vacuum cleaner to ensure efficient operation.

Defrosting:

  • Defrost the freezer when the ice layer reaches a thickness of about 5-10 mm (0.2-0.4 inches).
  • Unplug the appliance and remove all food items, storing them in a cool place or another freezer.
  • Leave the lid open to allow the ice to melt naturally. Place towels or a tray to collect the water.
  • Do not use sharp objects or heating devices to remove ice, as this can damage the freezer.
  • Once defrosted, clean and dry the interior thoroughly before plugging the freezer back in and returning food.

Power Failure: In case of a power outage, keep the freezer lid closed to maintain the internal temperature for as long as possible. The freezer can maintain food temperature for several hours if unopened.
