5. Connect Propane Ignition System: Install the electronic Touch-N-Go ignition system. Note that a propane tank is not included and must be purchased separately. Ensure all gas connections are tight and checked for leaks before first use.
6. Install Ash Catcher and Cleaning System: Attach the aluminized steel One-Touch cleaning system and the removable, high-capacity aluminum ash catcher.

Operating Instructions

Lighting the Charcoal with Touch-N-Go Ignition

1. Prepare Charcoal: Place charcoal briquettes or lump charcoal into the charcoal baskets or directly onto the charcoal grate. For optimal performance, use the included charcoal baskets to create indirect heat zones if desired.
2. Open Lid and Vents: Ensure the grill lid is open and all bottom and top vents are fully open to allow for proper airflow.
3. Activate Ignition: Turn the propane ignition knob to the "Light" position and press the electronic ignition button. You should hear a clicking sound and see a flame ignite the charcoal.
4. Monitor Charcoal: Allow the charcoal to ignite and ash over, which typically takes 15-20 minutes. Once the charcoal is mostly gray, turn off the propane ignition.
5. Begin Cooking: Close the lid and allow the grill to preheat to your desired temperature. Adjust vents to control heat.

Cooking with the Gourmet BBQ System

The Weber Performer Deluxe features a Gourmet BBQ System cooking grate, which allows for various inserts (sold separately) to expand your cooking capabilities. The center grate section is removable.

• To use an insert, remove the circular center section of the cooking grate.
• Place the desired Gourmet BBQ System accessory (e.g., sear grate, wok, poultry roaster) into the opening.
• Follow specific instructions for the accessory being used.

Maintenance and Care

Regular cleaning and maintenance will extend the life of your Weber Performer Deluxe Grill and ensure optimal performance.

• Ash Removal: After each use, once the grill has cooled, use the One-Touch cleaning system to sweep ash into the removable aluminum ash catcher. Empty the ash catcher regularly.
• Cooking Grate Cleaning: Clean the cooking grates with a grill brush after each use while they are still warm. For deeper cleaning, remove grates and wash with warm, soapy water.
• Exterior Cleaning: Wipe down the exterior surfaces with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
• Grill Cover: Use the included durable polyester fabric grill cover to protect your grill from the elements when not in use. Ensure the cover is form-fitted and secured with the Velcro strap. The integrated storage pouch keeps the cover tidy when not in use.
