2. Setup
Battery Installation
This product is sold as a 'tool only' unit. A compatible RYOBI ONE+ 18V battery and charger are required and sold separately. To install the battery, align the battery pack with the port on the base of the drill and slide it in until it clicks securely into place. To remove, press the release latches on the battery and slide it out.

Figure 2: Reminder that battery and charger are sold separately.
Chuck Operation
The 1/2 inch keyless chuck allows for quick and easy bit changes. To install a drill bit or driving bit, rotate the chuck counter-clockwise to open the jaws. Insert the bit fully, then rotate the chuck clockwise to tighten the jaws securely around the bit. Ensure the bit is centered and firmly gripped before operation.
Clutch and Speed Adjustment
The drill features a 24-position clutch and a 2-speed gearbox for optimal control. The clutch ring, located behind the chuck, allows you to select the desired torque setting to prevent overdriving screws or damaging materials. For drilling, set the clutch to the drill icon. The speed selector switch, located on top of the drill, allows you to choose between low speed (0-450 RPM) for high torque applications like driving screws, and high speed (0-1,700 RPM) for faster drilling.

3. Operating Instructions
Basic Operation
Before operating, ensure the battery is fully charged and securely installed. Select the appropriate clutch setting and speed for your task. Hold the drill firmly with both hands if necessary, especially for high-torque applications. Press the variable speed trigger to start the drill. The speed increases as you press the trigger further. Release the trigger to stop the drill.
Work Light
The integrated LED work light illuminates the work area when the trigger is pressed, improving visibility in dimly lit conditions. The light remains on for approximately 15 seconds after the trigger is released.
4. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Regularly clean the tool's air vents to prevent overheating. Use a clean, dry cloth to wipe down the exterior. Do not use solvents or harsh chemicals.
- Storage: Store the drill/driver in a dry, secure location out of reach of children. Remove the battery pack when storing for extended periods.
- Chuck Maintenance: Periodically inspect the chuck jaws for wear or damage. Keep the chuck clean and free of debris to ensure proper bit gripping.
5. Troubleshooting
