Important Safety Instructions
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and injury to persons, including the following:
- Read all instructions before using the appliance.
- Do not immerse the motor unit in water or other liquids. Clean only with a damp cloth.
- Always unplug the appliance from the power outlet before assembling, disassembling, or cleaning.
- Keep hands and utensils away from moving parts during operation to prevent injury. Never push food with your hands; always use the food pusher provided.
- Ensure the appliance is placed on a stable, flat, and dry surface during operation.
- This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.

- Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner. Contact customer service for examination, repair, or adjustment.
- Do not use attachments not recommended or sold by the manufacturer.
- Do not use outdoors.
- Do not let the cord hang over the edge of a table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
- Avoid contact with sharp blades. Handle the cutting blade and grinding plates with extreme care.
Product Components
Familiarize yourself with the parts of your Zelmer ZMM2853B Meat Grinder before assembly and operation.
- Motor Unit: The main body containing the motor and control switch.
- Grinding Head: The metal housing where the grinding components are assembled.
- Auger: A spiral-shaped shaft that feeds food towards the blade.
- Cutting Blade: A sharp, cross-shaped blade that cuts the food.

Setup and Assembly
Follow these steps to correctly assemble your meat grinder before use:
- Ensure the motor unit is unplugged from the power outlet.
- Insert the grinding head into the opening on the front of the motor unit. Rotate it counter-clockwise until it locks securely into place.
- Insert the auger into the grinding head, ensuring the square end fits into the drive shaft of the motor unit.
- Place the cutting blade onto the square shaft of the auger, with the sharp edges facing outwards towards the grinding plate.
- Select the desired grinding plate (fine, medium, or coarse) and place it over the cutting blade and auger shaft.
- Screw the fixing ring onto the grinding head clockwise until it is hand-tight. Do not overtighten.
- Place the food tray onto the top of the grinding head.
- Position a bowl or container under the grinding head outlet to collect the ground food.

Operating Instructions
Before operating, ensure the appliance is correctly assembled and all safety precautions are observed.
- Prepare Food: Cut meat into pieces that fit easily into the feeding tube (approximately 2-3 cm cubes). Remove any bones, gristle, or tough tendons.
- Plug In: Plug the power cord into a suitable electrical outlet (230V AC).
- Start Grinding: Turn the power switch to the 'ON' position.
- Feed Food: Place the prepared food into the food tray. Use the food pusher to gently guide the food into the grinding head. Never use your fingers or other utensils to push food.
- Continuous Operation: Do not operate the grinder continuously for more than 10 minutes. Allow the motor to cool down for at least 10 minutes before resuming operation.
- Reverse Function (if available): If the grinder becomes clogged, switch the appliance off, then switch to the 'Reverse' (R) position for a few seconds to clear the blockage. Then switch off again before attempting to grind.
- Finish Grinding: Once all food has been processed, turn the power switch to the 'OFF' position and unplug the appliance.

Note: While the product is primarily a meat grinder, some models may include attachments for other food processing tasks, such as shredding, as shown in the example below. Always refer to your specific model's included accessories.

Cleaning and Maintenance
Regular cleaning ensures hygiene and prolongs the life of your appliance. Always unplug the grinder before cleaning.
- Disassembly: Turn the fixing ring counter-clockwise to remove it. Carefully remove the grinding plate, cutting blade, auger, and grinding head.
- Cleaning Parts: Wash all removable parts (grinding head, auger, blade, grinding plates, food tray, food pusher) in warm, soapy water. Use a brush to remove any food residue from the holes of the grinding plates.
- Rinse and Dry: Rinse all parts thoroughly with clean water. Dry them immediately and completely to prevent rust, especially the metal components.
- Motor Unit: Wipe the motor unit with a damp cloth. Never immerse the motor unit in water or place it under running water.
- Reassembly: Once all parts are dry, reassemble the grinder in reverse order of disassembly.
- Storage: Store the assembled or disassembled grinder in a clean, dry place.
