Setup

  1. Battery Installation:

Unscrew the battery cap at the bottom of the pen. Insert two 1.5V AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-). Replace the battery cap securely. The device will power on automatically or require a press of the power button.

  2. Power On: Press the power button (usually marked with a power symbol) to turn on the device. The LCD display will illuminate.
  3. Self-Test: The device performs a brief self-test upon power-on. Ensure the low power indicator is not active.

Operating Instructions

  1. Voltage Detection:

Place the tip of the voltage detector near the wire, outlet, or electrical component you wish to test. If AC voltage is present, the tip will glow red, and an audible buzzer will sound. The frequency of the beep and the intensity of the light will increase as the voltage strength increases or as you get closer to the live wire.

Image: A visual comparison demonstrating Null Wire Testing (buzzer alarms slowly, light flashes slowly, LCD shows green) versus Live Wire Testing (buzzer alarms quickly, light flashes quickly, LCD shows red) using the Wintact Voltage Detector.

  2. Adjusting Sensitivity (Dual Range):

Press the 'S' button to switch between the two sensitivity ranges: 12V-1000V (High Sensitivity) and 48V-1000V (Low Sensitivity). Use high sensitivity for detecting voltage in less accessible areas or through insulation, and low sensitivity for direct testing of outlets or wires.
