1. Introduction
The Behringer PK112A is a high-power 600-watt, 2-way active PA sound reinforcement speaker system designed for both live sound and playback applications. This ultra-compact and lightweight system delivers excellent sound performance even at high sound pressure levels. It features a built-in media player with a display, SD card slot, USB port, and Bluetooth receiver, along with a 2-channel mixer for versatile audio input management.

2. Setup
2.1 Unpacking and Inspection
Carefully unpack the PK112A speaker system and inspect it for any signs of damage during transit. Retain the packaging materials for future transport or storage.
2.2 Placement Options
The PK112A can be placed in various configurations:
- Pole Mount: The speaker features a standard pole mount socket on the bottom for use with speaker stands.
- Floor Placement: It can be placed horizontally on the floor for use as a stage monitor or vertically for general sound reinforcement.
2.3 Power Connection
- Ensure the power switch on the rear panel is in the "OFF" position.
- Connect the supplied power cable to the AC inlet on the rear panel of the speaker.
- Plug the other end of the power cable into a suitable electrical outlet.
2.4 Audio Connections
The PK112A features a 2-channel mixer with various input options. Refer to Figure 2.1 for the rear panel layout.

- Mic/Line Inputs (MIC 1, MIC 2): Connect microphones or line-level instruments using XLR or 1/4" TRS cables. Adjust individual volume controls for each input.
- Line/MP3 Input (LINE / MP3): Connect external audio sources such as CD players, mixers, or other devices using RCA cables.
- Output (OUT): Use this RCA output to connect to another active speaker or recording device.
2.5 Bluetooth Pairing
- Power on the PK112A speaker.
- On the media player section, ensure Bluetooth mode is selected. The Bluetooth indicator light will flash, indicating it is ready for pairing.
- Activate Bluetooth on your mobile device (smartphone, tablet, etc.) and search for available devices.
- Select "BEHRINGER PK112A" from the list of devices.
- Once paired, the Bluetooth indicator light will become solid. You can now stream audio wirelessly to the speaker.

3. Operating Instructions
3.1 Powering On/Off
To power on the speaker, flip the power switch on the rear panel to the "ON" position. To power off, flip the switch to "OFF". Always ensure all volume controls are at their minimum before powering on or off to prevent sudden loud noises.
3.2 Mixer Controls
The integrated 2-channel mixer allows for precise control over your audio sources.

- MIC 1 / MIC 2 Volume: Adjusts the input level for connected microphones or line-level devices.
- LINE / MP3 Volume: Controls the input level for the RCA line input and the internal media player (USB/SD/Bluetooth).
- MASTER Volume: Adjusts the overall output volume of the speaker.
- EQ (HIGH / LOW): Provides 2-band equalization to adjust the treble (HIGH) and bass (LOW) frequencies of the overall sound.
- CLIP LED: This indicator lights up red when the input signal is too high, indicating potential audio clipping or distortion. Reduce the input volume if this LED illuminates frequently.
3.3 Media Player Operation
The built-in media player supports playback from USB drives, SD cards, and Bluetooth devices.
- USB Port: Insert a USB flash drive containing audio files (e.g., MP3) into the USB port. The player will automatically detect and begin playback.
- SD Card Slot: Insert an SD card containing audio files into the SD card slot. The player will detect and play the files.
- Mode Button: Use the Mode button to switch between USB, SD, and Bluetooth input sources.
- Playback Controls: Use the play/pause, stop, previous, and next track buttons on the media player panel to control audio playback.
4. Maintenance
Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your PK112A speaker system.
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior surfaces of the speaker. For stubborn dirt, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by a dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners, solvents, or waxes, as these can damage the finish.
- Grille Cleaning: The metal grille can be gently cleaned with a soft brush to remove dust and debris.
- Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the speaker in a dry, cool environment, ideally in its original packaging or a protective cover, to prevent dust accumulation and physical damage.
- Cable Management: Always handle power and audio cables carefully. Avoid sharp bends or kinks, and unplug them by grasping the connector, not the cable itself.
