1. Introduction

This manual provides essential instructions for the safe operation, setup, and maintenance of your Behringer PK115A Active PA Speaker System. The PK115A is a high-power 800-watt, 2-way PA sound reinforcement speaker system designed for live performances and playback applications. It features an ultra-compact and lightweight design, a built-in media player with Bluetooth connectivity, and an integrated 2-channel mixer.

2. Important Safety Instructions

• Use only with the cart, stand, tripod, bracket, or table specified by the manufacturer, or sold with the apparatus. When a cart is used, use caution when moving the cart/apparatus combination to avoid injury from tip-over.
• Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or when unused for long periods of time.

Servicing is required when the apparatus has been damaged in any way, such as power-supply cord or plug is damaged, liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the apparatus, the apparatus has been exposed to rain or moisture, does not operate normally, or has been dropped.

4. Setup

4.1 Physical Placement

The PK115A is designed for versatile placement. It features a plug mount for stand installation. Ensure the speaker is placed on a stable surface or securely mounted on a compatible speaker stand.

4.2 Power Connection

1. Ensure the power switch on the rear panel is in the OFF position.
2. Connect the provided power cable to the AC inlet on the rear of the speaker.
3. Plug the other end of the power cable into a suitable electrical outlet.

4.3 Audio Connections

The PK115A features a 2-channel mixer with various input options.

• Microphone Inputs: Connect microphones to the XLR or 1/4" TRS inputs labeled "MIC 1" and "MIC 2".
• Line Inputs: Connect line-level sources (e.g., mixers, instruments, media players) to the 1/4" TRS or RCA inputs labeled "LINE/MP3".

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Powering On/Off

1. Before powering on, ensure all volume controls are set to minimum.
2. Flip the power switch on the rear panel to the ON position.
3. To power off, set all volume controls to minimum, then flip the power switch to OFF.

5.2 Using the Integrated Mixer

• Volume Controls: Adjust individual volume for Mic/Line inputs using their respective knobs.
• Clip LEDs: Monitor the Clip LEDs. If an LED illuminates, reduce the input volume to prevent distortion.
• Master Volume: Control the overall output level with the MASTER knob.
• 2-Band EQ: Use the dedicated 2-band EQ (Bass and Treble) to adjust the tonal characteristics of your sound.
• Sound Processor: The integrated sound processor provides ultimate system control and speaker protection.

5.3 Media Player Operation

The built-in media player supports playback from various sources.

• USB Port: Insert a USB flash drive containing audio files.
• SD Card Slot: Insert an SD card with audio files.
• Bluetooth Receiver:
  1. Activate Bluetooth on your compatible device (e.g., smartphone).
  2. Select "PK115A" from the list of available devices to pair.
  3. Once paired, you can stream audio wirelessly to the speaker.
• Display: The media player display shows track information and playback status.

• Cleaning: Clean the speaker's exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents.
